:w00t: do you all get the giggles sometimes with this band thing?? i had an extreme workout today with my husband & trainer - JUST off the hook nuts....as i was walking out of the gym *and had to change my shirt cause it was SOAKED*, some member told me - "that's the way one should look after a good workout" - well i was PURPLE. not red "faced" not my natural italian glow - PURPLE. we walked to the truck and hubby said your shoes were moving during our run and your shorts are sagging. Tanning Makes You Look Fatter Or Skinnier?
luluc replied to Isabella's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
so, i'm in TX, on a ranch & it's HOT most days - including todays 108 in the shade - LOL sunscreen is my only moisturizer & a ball cap and big sun glasses are the norm. i have naturally dark skin (italian/jewish) - but, my mom threw SPF in my face at an early age. in hot climate - protect yourself; i will naturally get tan just walking out the door - but i do like jergen's self tanner to blend things in. at the end of the day - i think a healthy glow makes you look fit; thinner is in the eye of the beholder & the size of your thighs...:cursing: -
jaymie - horse owner here as well; my big guy LOVES my butt has trimmed down some - i can so relate to your story. congrats to your NSV!!! & ENJOY riding more OFTEN!!!

What are the effect of Banding on Muscle Mass?
luluc replied to CMF's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i weight train twice a wk with my trainer & get in an additional 3 days of cardio & yoga. he actually wants me to start picking up my cardio & that's my current goal. i'm not a runner per se' - i probably clock 5-7 miles a wk, for me i have to mix things up with cardio (stairmaster/bike/ellitical), so to not get bored - a problem for me:) my diet had to change when i started weight training - carbs HAD to be infused. i was one of those who started out "low carb - or barely none" and it did not sustain me. i am all about balance now with my food (grains/fruits/veggies/meats & wine..LOL) and with most things in my life. i have had the habit of going to extremes..., but the band got me to focus long term for the first time in a while, and i'm extremely pleased with the results so far. -
today - yoga class 20min stairmaster

you ROCK ceradad:thumbup::biggrin: love to read your write up when published, you have done AMAZINGLY!!!! good luck tom on the TRI!!!
-
leslie - i sorta know what your talking about. DH was banded the same day as me, and i took off with exercise immediately. took him 4+ months to follow along with me, but aggrivatingly - he had already just about reached goal (hate men lose faster:frown:). he just got tired of sat/sun mornings me going to the gym by myself & he kinda felt left out. i'm like I'd LOVE for you to join me - but i wont' force the issue. now when he's in town - he ALWAYS goes to the gym w/me, he uses my trainer now & last night he said he feels the best he has in 10yrs. sorry whosya, but i think men actually are more embarrassed than woman when hitting the gym overweight....at least that would be MO. keep doing what your doing - i bet he catches up with you, but don't deviate from your plan.
-
eh - that's really not the same. i read through (well the one thread) the other day it appeared to be a "supportive" page for individuals who have banded family members & how they - cope/deal/etc. i get frequent PM's from couples doing this together, i think it's a different path than the above mentioned forum.
-
yesterday - b- 1/2c Fiber one squares w/2% milk and blueberries s- 1oz cheddar cheese l- 3oz grilled talapia, bite of spinach d- 3/4c cream potato Soup
-
soooooooooooooo~~ starting the thread...let the challenge begin - i'm working out 2 days a wk with trainer ^ 1 day conditioning with baylor ftball players *yeah they're cute...LOL* got a cardio goal in my head ; love whosya & ceradad for setting the bar~~ cheeers to all who join!!!

i'm in - tsdy & thursdy trainer sessions, plus 3 additional work out days. trying to up my cardio & include more yoga. thanks for starting, lulu

pick yourself up - dust off the negative vibes and get back to the basics. i too had family for over a wk & i had to try to limit the junk around me. pretty grateful i didn't fall too off the wagon - but i did continue going to the gym during that time. the band is perfect, cause it always lets you start up anew ..... GO to your Dr., never avoid the person that can assist in your weightloss journey - i agree completely w/dionna's advise there. just start back up at the beginning & go from there - cheers!
