ok - still following this thread, i think ya'll are doing wonderfully & the support you are providing one another is fantastic.!! my good friend had put on 40lbs over the last 2yrs, and started back in the spring working out - i turned her onto the c5k program, which she is currently at wk7....she & my trainer has put me to task to sign up for a 5k, and just do it. so the 3 of us have a date in less than 2 months and i HAVE to get back to basics w/running. currently i'm having issues running past the 22/23min mark & definitely not at the 5k marker. my trainer has me running outside the gym w/him & i'm finding it easier going from that to running longer on the treadmill - but i'm struggling a bit with my breathing. my legs can keep going - it's just so hard i think in this TX heat to continue outside. anyone advise on the breathing or how your handling it? appreciate it,

both of my parents are very fit & trim and have been my entire life..however they are the only one of out their siblings to be so. on both sides my aunts/uncles have had weight issues. my dad's side is tall and "thick", my mom's - short & "round". i tease that i got the short & round "gene" - but i only put on weight after i got married.....same with my eldest brother (he just got the band). my other brothers are very fit & trim. i think the propensity CAN be there - but one could also fend off the weight as well...MO only, of course.

something that i've found about a yr ago that i just LOVE: oil of olay's regeneration eye derma pods. you don't use them every day (approx 3days per wk) and they are such gems. i don't really have wrinkle issues - but the puffiness has/is a concern of mine, and the general "looking of tiredness". these have worked extremely well.

today - trainer had a cancellation, so we had a session identical to thursdays: "hr session w/trainer: 20min run *outside again*, interval of sprint/jog/walk, upper body weight training & ab routine" i made a decision to finally do a 5k - well it was with much smack talking from the trainer man. he's going to do it w/me oct 4th:eek:. so i'm going to be running more, and as much as i'd rather clean toilets - it has been changing the definition of my legs - so i'll keep it up. have a good wkend all~

[quote name=A lot less;960646LOL' date=' wish my DH would have gone with yours. I can't convince him to stop buying "cheese puffs and oreos". The oreos I can skip, but the puffs just absolutely melt in my mouth and I can eat a BIG bag in no time. LOL I'm going to try a wally world in another town, DH and I "brake" for ALL wally worlds. We know where they are just about in every small town within a 100 mile radius. LOL[/quote] what's sad is i'm not even a cookie fan - but i've had a sweet tooth since visiting my parents (who do cake & coffee w/friends EVERY night). need to up the fruit. i have found greek yogurt at whole foods market - but they always seem to be out of stock & it's geographically undesireable to go there often:tongue:
-
i seem to be a bit more open, as i typically can eat more:rolleyes:
-
small town here as well - HARD to get greek yogurt, i've just given up. do they ship that to TX??? i'm SOOO excited hubby is gone for 12 days overseas for business so i can keep CRAP out of the house - those chip ahoy crisps i snuck in his suitcase to get rid of, just kept calling my name each night. today~ b- 1/2c fiber one cereal w/2% milk l - 1 veggie spring roll & 1c edamame s- ***chip ahoy*** kept one and of course ATE it - UGH d- 4 coconut shrimp and glass of chardonay:rolleyes:

well i did have a LONG chat w/my anesthesiologist that he better make sure i wake up. that was my only one fear - i hate going under, i did the same when i had my appendicectomy: MAKE sure I wake UP!!! risks are risks - staying overweight is as much. as far at the chat rms here; been once & once for a reason:tongue: good luck to you!!

i did this back in jan & just wanted to wish you much success!!!

well babe, you know you'll get nothing but support on this one from me. to be honest - i really rarely venture outside the food/nutrition & exercise threads, cause i don't believe those who are complaining REALLY want advise. just my opinion. i too am a crazy exercise person - and "try" to get something in each day & it's frustrating (for about 2 seconds) when i get a PM like yesterday saying i'm not a real person & my weight loss is fake. well, my feelings got hurt for a bit, thought of replying - but decided that that person could never handle a session with me and my trainer. and if they wanted to come to dallas, i'd be happy to oblige. exercise DOES impact how much weight you lose, i like food too much to not strike that balance.
-
ceradad - you changed the avtr & look great!! today - 2.2m run (trying to like running - having a hard time but the scale is just STUCK..so sticking w/it some) think i would have run more - but it started to rain, so gave me an excuse to bail.
-
i've been as high as 8.5cc in my band, and now comfortably @ 7.2. i too have a tendency to eat fast - but meats ALWAYS check me it seems, and i have to slow down a bunch. so far i've had 8 fills & 2 unfills, and it was around fill #5 that i couldn't inhale my meals:eek:, hopefully fill #3 will work for ya!!!

yesterday - b- eas carb control vanilla shake s- ostrich jerky stick l- 2.5oz smoked turkey & 1/4c ranch beans d- 2oz jerk chicken & 1/2c cucumber salad s- 100 cal chip ahoy crisps ***these have to get out of the house!!!***

gloucester - i have EDD (exercise deficit disorder) my coined term to deal w/my ADD cause i get bored EASILY. i did the C5k in january, and then i was "what's next??". i realized i'm not a runner; i played college sports (soccer/tennis/lacrosse) and i'm a competitive sports person - bar none. i have the most over the top / obnoxious trainer who i see each tues/thurs who checks my "don't wanna run" line - and he makes me run . i get it; i have to run to shake the bum down to a normal size - but like the ladies above mentioned you have to find something that keeps you coming back. i'm playing more tennis & golf - cause for me, competing is FUN & this thing called exercise "should" be fun....good luck to ya.

Questions relating to low bmi & protruding port

over 30 is obese & i've yet to hear a dr turn someone down for being banded at that BMI range. now insurance may not cover, due to their "guidelines" - but if someone has the means for self pay, more power; regardless of comorbids.....some are just trying to prevent them. -
any issues with getting the brow waxed after permanent coloring? my brows grow everywhere but where they should and i wax them monthly - would this be of any interferrance?

Questions relating to low bmi & protruding port
luluc replied to TrishaLight's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
well jachut, keep showing off the tummy - it looks great. i have recently nicknamed my protruding port (Trudy) - cause it's like an outtie belly button. my scars have healed very nicely - but the port DOES stick out and is noticeable **when i point it out** i've had a 2 piece bathing suit on all summer - nobody knows i'm banded but 4 & it's never been spotted. i'll take the protruding port over a belly:tongue: - btw, bmi was 36 to start.....
