so do you only do Protein Drinks during the day & say a meal for dinner? i hit the wall w/working out & running, that today i walked out of a yoga class of all things. i know i need supplements due to the increase of activity - and i "think" i get the proper nutrition/protein in the food i eat each day. my trainer saw me leave my class this AM, he knows my limitations of taking pills and suggested i try advocare energy drink. i did a search today, and it' looks to provide a lot of nutrients..might give that a try. i might just need to start eating more....oh darn:biggrin:

you WOULD think - but no; got booty for days. in the reverse of cori's comment, i think my gut got replaced to the backside. so i just run to keep it from needing it's own zip code. i'll be thinking of ya tuesday!! -
hubby and i were banded the same day (no children). although we sat the day after in our media chairs on pain meds wondering "what did we just do to ourselves" - i could not imagine going through this w/out him. in putting the weight on after marriage, we decided to get fit together - same time, and it's the best thing we've done for each other & have never regretted it. i would take advantage of your support system in taking care of your child for a few days, found hubby had a longer recovery (but he is a big baby) NO your not crazy - if you can do it together, i highly suggest it!!

3 fields for me - but it's RAINED for the first time in forever & not sure when i can the tractor out. make no mistakes - ranch work is HARD work. add more cattle to the picture like DH did before he took off to NZ/Aust - and i'm worn out, after my normal workouts. this time last yr i had to hire ranch hands to help me with our fields - not the present; i'm handling it all on my own w/ 8 dogs now - 3 horses - 4 cows, and - 12 long horns.....gidde up''''

haha - you made my day today reading this..LOL got banded in oct '07 - by jan '08 i had only lost a little over 20lbs ; so joined the c5k (whosya was my pit bull & cheerleader) , got a trainer and stuck my head in the sand working out like CRAZY. i'm 5'1 - i'd like to lose more, but 125 is where i have been for 2 months. like some on this thread - my addiction to the scale has seriously frustrated me, hubby took it out of the house till the day before the 5k. i realized running really made my stumpy legs look half way decent - so i re-engaged..kicking & screaming of course.. btw - i ran (in the rain this am) w/my trainer .... THE TWO's WORK!!!, i might have spit on myself a few times throwing them out loud & all - but i got threw our running session not feeling like a car was parked on my chest. thanks so much, lulu

hi tracy, <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> i was a SLOW loser at first - 25lbs the first 4 months, then 50lbs the 5 months afterwards. i'd like to lose more - but i just got realistic, that it might not happen (been a while since the scales has moved)...so hubby took the scale out of the house for 2 months to see how things go, while i train hard for a 5k in Oct/Nov/Dec. <o:p></o:p> i found that around 1100 calories was the right number for me; and i workout with a trainer twice a wk, with 3 or 4 more additional days. <o:p></o:p> <o:p>i carry my weight more below - butt/thighs vs the top which is very lean, same w/the tummy....looking for them all to be proportionate one day..LOL:tongue:</o:p> lulu<o:p></o:p>

brandy - i'm sure ceradad, when using the term normal meant (normal weight - those who have never had weight issues). he's certainly not the type to infer differently.
-
ceradad - what supplements do you take? my trainer would like for me to start adding some, but i was a bad pill taker WELL before the lapband & since then - those horse pills won't go down, and crushing them will make me puke. just curious. today - 1mile bike warm up *1hr trainer session - 30min running interval (5min run 1min walk 5min....so on - in the rain:eek:) *glutt/butt/hip routine *shoulder routine *ab routine

carrie, there is a thread in the plastic surgery forum "ask dr schulman" - and many have put questions out on the subject including me. here is his website he sent over to my inquiry about the eyes: Lower Eyelids | Madison Avenue Plastic Surgery he's a generous PS who answers many of the questions we have - especially those looking for reconstruction due to weight loss.

short one here - i'm 5'1 & 125lbs. at my highest 200lbs i wore a 16 bottom and XL top, right now i wear a 6 bottom and 8 top (got big girls - 32d). "if" i were to buy a dress, i'm sure i'd get an 8 and have it altered - but since i wore jeans to my wedding, a dress is SO out of my future:wink:.

Existing stomach issues & getting the band
luluc replied to alabamagirl1975's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i have crohns disease & had to get clearance from my Gastro Dr., in fact my lapband Surgeon & Gastro had a con call before i could get cleared for surgery. apparently it's not a recommended surgery (lapband) for those with abdominal problems & previous surgery. since my issue with crohns have been managed for 10yrs with diet vs drugs - i was given the OK. to date, i've not had any flare ups. i think the lapband actually has helped with keeping my diet in check. not sure your problem - but i suggest a healthy honest conversation w/your lapband surgeon so he knows what he's dealing with. ps - productive burp is when the food is just not going to go down, and well it comes back up & fast...:wink2: -
Should LapBandTalk have forums for OTHER Weight Loss Surgeries?
luluc replied to Froggi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
sorta on the fence. off the bat - Yes, for several reasons mentioned (ie - revisions, etc.) but then i'm like hmm, GG makes a good point - especially after participating (bad me) in an RNY discussion and sharing my friends failed procedure currently looking for a revision. to get a smack down by an RNY person on a lapband board, well - i just disengaged & learned my lesson. i have learned an awful lot about "other" WLS here, i wouldn't mind that feature staying but i' would have a hard time staying if this turned into OH - which i deplore. -
thanks carrie - i had thought about buying that gel, as i'm noticing some dryness recently. laurinda - the derma pods work great for the puffiness & apparently so does the gel!!!. not sure how they work on "dark circles" - but they have made an impact, enough so for DH to notice. i'm not opposed to hitting a plastic surgeon to fix this in the near future, but thought i should at least coast into my 40's w/out having to do so...
