    Totally Depressed

    it's hard not to be disappointed in the lbs coming off faster - but they also didn't pile on overnight. i had to have 7 fills till i got restriction & only lost 24lbs in the first 4 months....to keep from getting depressed i just looked at my weightloss in 10lb increments.., get out of the 190's, 180's & so forth. to look at the total needed all at once was very daunting to me. i would start journaling your food & continue with your exercise. your calories "may" be a bit high, however if your working out hard - you may need more. talk w/your dr about that one - good luck!!!

    September exercise challenge?

    froggi - have you tried stationary bike or elliptical? not sure if you belong to a Y or gym - but if your "walking" outside, and have symptoms of asthma....maybe taking your exercising inside would be of help. if not a gym member - there are some DVD's that are "walking ones". not going to let you slide on the exercise - you got a leg up w/your banding very soon......trial/error - have to find what works best. here for you.....cheers, lulu

    very sorry - can't imagine how to deal w/little ones in that scenario....but your a fighter - period. you can't come to this board, like you have & shown guts / glory & bad w/out this just one more hurdle to combat. it's probably what you may not want to hear - but on a legal front, get your affairs in order & fast. and if you want a hiding break from the world, TX isn't that far....you can have a crash pad here!!!

    i think the same way. i laughed at my dr when he gave me the "wls statistics"; and he was like, i would love nothing better than you prove me wrong. he even said, those determined to lose 100%+ excess of their weight - do so; however they are not in the majority .... which is why he says he sets expectations at (X). some are very happy losing 50-70% of the bum, me i wanted it all gone...(still have a bum tho).

    kathy - he is VERY pretty :crying:, he also trains my husband. not sure which he prefers :cursing: though....but he really has become a member of our family. he's house sitting for us in dec/jan for 2 wks - so he's earned hubbys trust. on the job front. i hope things turn around for ya! i've not worked in over 2yrs & feel the pang to do so - but i was in high tech sales & had to give up the life of travel out of a suitcase. trying to figure out myself what i want to do when i grow up - hubby says, stay home and take care of him. financially can do so - intellectually - talking to the farm animals has made me loopy....:thumbdown:

    oh renewed that's SO great!! & you left enough for the imagination:tongue2: but did you go 4 wheeling???:biggrin::wink: lyn - NEVER stop with the stories, you seriously crack my A&& up. pocket dialing - i do it often, thankfully no blunders..., YET:wink: today - i ran for 40mins...interval again w/trainer - 10min run/5walk....for an hr, in the rain. then got my butt kicked w/lunges / squats / abs - oh my... think i got my twinkle toe running under control - still catch myself; but think this can be tackeled... happy tsday all!

    September exercise challenge?

    glad to see ya again jody!!!! today - my trainer had a cancellation so we had a 90min workout: 60min run in the rain - i heart him..:biggrin: 10min run/5min walk/ 10min run - so forth with a sprint around the parking lot at the end. i so enjoy the treadmill when left to myself to run...LOL 30min lunge/squat/ab routine

  14. ugh, i still have my booty. i think i could easily weigh 100lbs & i'll have a backside. running joke w/hubby, my thunder thighs went north to the butt - thankfully he's a butt/breast guy - cause got plenty of both. knees - can't sleep w/out my body pillow between each leg. probably one of the best investments recently - it's allowed me to sleep w/out the knees touching, can't handle it. only complaint - seems the butt is bigger now than before...then again i did not view myself in a mirror often :thumbup:

    he has since passed since the filing. so, he no longer has skin in the game, his family i'm sure will take up charge with this case. OH is pretty vile in MO. i have seen personal information passed- such as real names / real address' / phone numbers posted when one member has had a pissing match w/another. couldn't pay me enough to be a member .

    have a diff view on interval. twice wkly i'm outside with trainer dude - who for 30mins makes me do interval runs...fast jog/slow jog/fast walk....can't stand his whistle. by doing this, i find when i am in the the gym on the treadmill - i can run a WHOLE lot more on my own. i actually stop myself sometimes when looking at the mileage or time thinking there is no way i went this far this fast. sorta psych myself out and stop, when i atually could have done more. running outside, lets my running inside go that much further., my lonely 2cents.... enjoy your evening renewed.
  17. i went with tru results - dallas, tx very efficient - all testing / sleep study etc done on site my surgeons office is across the street - all tests were faxed to him the minute of their completion. my sleep study was the last ... put it off!! it was done on a monday, i had my lapband friday. if your on top of your dr's and such you should be fine; if not ask for copies & hand deliver to your surgeon.
  18. my results were sent the morning of completion to my dr. i had no apnea. what i took: my own pillow comfy jammies couple of dvd's - they encouraged me to watch movies to fall asleep to a ball cap - cause the goop left in your hair afterwards is GROSS

    i think drs try to set expectations that "some" may not lose 100% of their excess weight. the 100lb (or plus) marker is not completely a "be all" to have surgery.....many perform the lapband on those who are obese (BMI over 30 - me included) & 100lbs is not necessarily whats needed to get to normal range. if you want to lose 100% of your excess weight; you can totally do so....my dr thought i'd do well to get to 140lbs.., i'm 5'1 - that kept in me in an overweight category.., if i was paying for my band (which i did) i had full intentions of making it to a normal BMI. good luck to you!!

    a little more each day ; sorta what i had playing in my head most days...LOL & each day adding a bit more to my routine really had great benefits. i too like the challenges for accountability and have met some buds along the way..... today - 5.5mile walk, trying to tame my wunderlust lab who likes to roam our ranch & everyone elses....i'm only 12lbs heavier than him, so he gave me a workout - being on a leash, which he normally is not use too. back with trainer tomorrow...had 4 days off of weight training to giving my right shoulder a break.

    hi aclubb - my wk is running 4 days with weight training 3. tsday/thurs while w/trainer half the time is running intervals outside to help me get ready for a 5k, the other half the time is weight training. i run an additonal 2 days, & 1 more day of weight training. i take off at least one day a wk to rest the body....welcome & good luck!!! kathy that's a great story, your family getting into the running!!! tootie, glad your getting back to normal after the storms!!!! lyn, i don't do too well going low carb - but it's worth a shot. i think you have to shock the body, with your food & exercise...but that's my theory....i also sweat like pig,...BUCKETS - not attractive., lol no running today, going to head out shortly and take a walk w/my neighbor. she had RNY 3yrs ago & has gained half of what she lost back & wants me to get her motivated to working out...who woulda thunk me hleping someone get into a groove...LOL:blink: have a good day all, ps - want pics of that cheeleading outfit!:thumbup:
