rhondalou - can't tell if your question/answer is from a book or your advice, however i think each individual will have to discern for themselves what the ratio of food to exercise will be for them. i weight train w/a PT twice a wk and do hard cardio 4 other days - since january it's been trial & error of what will work as "fuel" for exercise - and empty stomach just won't cut it for me, nor is it recommeded by my trainer. he's the only expert i work with and his suggestions are specifically for me. the harder i work out the more i need to eat before & after; i also can't run more than 10mins if i'm on an empty stomach. while the info above is interesting - it's important to know that the band also gets a say in what goes in, as it can have a mind of its own some days.....:wink:2cents,

i eat a snack or my breakfast 20mins before a workout, just depends on the time of day. if i don't fuel myself properly - my weight training or running suffers.

i go to a full service *no tipping* Aveda salon. i LOVE the concept, the prices are a bit more - cut & color $125 & i ususally get some product. with that fee i also get a full chair massage & makeup application if i want (not a make up person, so i don't get that service). i have been going there for about 4ys and i believe when i did tip for cut/color it was around $25 on a $100+ bill.

OK trade ya! i'm enjoying the quiet before my contractors show up and the banging starts all over again, though today i think paint is taking place???

my neighbor and dog walking buddy had RNY 3 yrs ago, she was 320lbs. she got down to 180lb and was very weak - sick & other issues...but she never changed her lifestyle. she now is 250lb & looking into a revision (most likely the DS - because as mentioned she has no desire to change her eating habits). we were walking the other day and she asked how many calories do i take in, i said around 1100 most days. she said she was good for 3000+:eek:....she's not much taller than me (5'1ish) - that's how i gained weight; not lost or maintained. everytime i'm at her house she's eating crap, at starbucks - i get my skinny latte and she orders the frap crap and wonders why she gained. her walks a couple times of the week are not going to help, she had the RNY and expected it do all the work - don't believe that's a reality no matter the WLS choice; we all have to work - daily/hrly..etc.

i have had liquids w/my meals all along, no issues with weight loss.

UGH my husband is banded also - but sneaks kettle chips in the house when i'm not looking:frown: he's been at goal for a while now and at 6'4 & 220 he is one big SNACKER. i can look at a chip and it's already on my A$$.

after reading this i just had to think - i don't remember the last time i had a piece of chocolate. i've had a choc protein drink, but the last peanut M&M has been MONTHS (those were my fav) i have a savory tooth - salt & spicey, i'm ok w/the sweet coming from fruit , guess that's a good thing, unless a bag of chips enters the house.

leslie - i saw that the body bugg is $100 off at my 24hr fitness ... signs all over, including the loo~ fanny - hope your surgery goes well!! kathy - outfit sounds great!!! good luck w/the interview.....lyn u 2! i've not worked in 2yrs & had been strugglin' with what i "want" to do vs having had a road warrior sales job for 15yrs. i took my lsat back in may just for s**$ & giggles and applied to only one law school - SMU. hubby had no idea; but i got in. so, my LBT obsession come january will subside & i'll be back in school at age 40:eek: maybe midlife crisis - but hey; got a new lease on life w/the band & dad always thought i should have been a lawyer...so now i have that chance:biggrin:
-
the TX state fair has a booth for "chicken fried bacon". my girlfriends and i plan on going next monday & i think i just have to have a bite. i haven't had anything "chicken fried" since being banded - but i'm just WAY curious about that one....i can leave the fried twinkies:tongue: bbk - hope things turnaround!
-
sure hope it happens before then:wink: when i sold - it was rental property (hated being a landlord). i felt so bad that 2 of our families lost their jobs & just couldn't pay rent - but after 6 months of no payment; we just off loaded the properties. just a sad time all around & i have my fingers crossed that hubby made smart moves w/the financials - because i'm a really bad poker player.

ya'll made me laugh just now reading - THANKS!! today - 2mile bike warm up 50min trainer session - just had poor quality & quantity of calories beforehand and really felt weak. just when ya think your strong; ya get smacked down and your legs feel like they have 100lb weights..weighing you down. sorry about your friend ebony.

not looking - not looking - not looking. i'm good w/denial in a LOT of areas in my life and the scale is included. rebound will happen - move away from your portfolio & ignore. you can't control it -... so take a blissful walk & come back at a later date in time. SO glad i sold - so glad i sold in certain areas......rebound will take place - always does.

just went onto the site. that looks pretty neat - i'm married to a gadget "whore" & i might be able to maneuver this purchase here soon!!!:cool2: everytime he goes overseas he feels the need to "buy" me something for the long time apart - while i'm left dealing w/contractors-plumber-electricians. got a new blackberry today (red:biggrin:). so i may have to wait a month or so....but i LIKE how this works , tracking & all!!

common' tootie , we'll do it - same day!!! so a first for me, i ran 4miles straight.!. i've mentioned before i can either be easily distracted or LOST in my own world. today was the latter:tongue2: hubby was w/our trainer and i wanted to run the 5k in prep for sat; so did a slow walk warm up and then started running, till i had a tap on my shoulder and DH's session was over:w00t:. i look down and i had run 4.1miles and did so for 45.17mins....YEAH ME!! LOL DH wanted to get a 20min cardio gig in afterwards (he leaves for a 2wks business trip) - so i did the bike for that amt of time. the plan is to run on wed, and do weight training tues / thurs.....get my hair done on frid (cut/color)....LOL:wink: nerves are starting to go away!! renewed cute story - :cool2:

oh good grief - hate is a harsh word for breeders. i have a bird dog hunting lab litter on the way, but also have rescued 4 dogs - total of 7 dogs. i breed a litter each yr of labs, but sponsor / donate to local shelters. i'm a big fan of getting a pet from a shelter but there are needs for hunters / families that would prefer a pure bred pet.

UGH the scale is just evil!!!! yesterday i about pissed my pants seeing 121.8 on the scale - this morning 126.9....UMMMM hate the scale and i'm still sticking w/me being 121. i'm OK w/denial:tongue:

but didn't papa bush start the pissing contest that baby bush felt oblige to finish? chachas research was presented on the today show on friday when matt lauer interviewed clinton. he actually gave a great response - utube it. each party has it's share of those who are not fond of their parties selection...move along past this point - those on the fence are still not convinced of either - that's the issue; not us who already have a definite candidate in mind. i loved tina fey last night playing palin in the interview w/couric asking for a lifeline / or to call a friend to answer a question....HILLARIOUS
