i wouldn't take anything here personal, there's a lot of silliness & advice, in the postings. i think this thread has those from every stage of the lapband process represented (sleeved 2!), in fact a few pages back from this one - you'll see advice given to SNT who gets her band tomorrow. since it is the rant & rave forum - you'll get some complaints; but you'll also find many posting here also on answering a LOT of newbie questions from the home page.....congrats on the band!!!

sooo, everyone watch? lot more drama & less working out it seemed, which is a bit annoying. the red team vs heba was interesting out of nowhere, and all it did was confuse me who to root for. guess i 'm going w/colleen at the moment (yellow team). she seems to steer clear of it all and want to workout. i noticed she's the only one who does "home work - cardio". and that sweet tooth competition would have done nothing for me, now chips & queso - i would have drank the bowl...LOL:tongue:
-
just venture into the political discussions - which i can only do once a wk or so; and it won't be hard to miss. same reason i don't watch the view.

haa haa, that made me just about spit my coffee - know exactly what your talking about... rainy day..

yes, i found them @target in the frozen food section - good option rather than making them  which can be time consuming. i make them w/ground chicken or turkey / shredded cabbage, carrots, green onion & hoison sauce. i use wonton wrappers, steam - then freeze in bulk. i take out when wanting a few, pan sear them & use a dipping sauce (i like a spicey tai version or dim sum sauce) nutritional value for 5 off the top of my head is around 200 calories & 12g of protein. i'm sure its' posted a few pages back. yesterday - b- 5.3oz honey greek yogurt s- half tuna wrap l- other half tuna wrap s- ostrich jerky stick d- half chille relleno, few bites of refried beans

2 Questions - weight loss & pain
luluc replied to Cleo's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
10-15lbs in 3 wks???? yeah that's a LOT to ask from someone who probably doesn't have over 100lbs to lose. that said; my dr suggested 6-8lbs per month was adequate for someone like me, who he suggested a 60lb loss. that really doesn't sound attainable - but if you can do it ... more power to ya!!! seriously. my port hurt well into month 2. all i was doing was cardio - walking & elliptical at that time; wasn't doing ab or core exercises. took me a bit of time, i didn't have much belly fat to mask it's presence - the port (maybe???). take it easy. there is no race in lbs dropped or how soon you can do crunches. congrats to date on your progress!!!! -
a BMI of 34 counts as you being obese. while your insurance may not cover you - there are dr's that perform the lapband on obese vs only morbidly obese patients & there is nothing wrong with you exploring weight loss surgery to help you lose the weight your looking to drop. best bet - go to a seminar by a local surgeon. you'll get a better idea of what to expect then. good luck to you.

Are We ready for a Black President?
luluc replied to TheWatcher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i actually do believe that it was purposeful for my registration not be in place. i have followed the following website: Request for Voter Registration Applications to ensure my registration all along, and filed 2 more times since june (didn't include that in previous post). so in TRYING to register 3 times since june; i'm going with my gut instinct of fraud or the Potential. and i'll bet - BET this will not be the last we hear of such instances....most haven't followed up, if indeed they are "registered". we'll find out when they show up on election day to vote. after 4 trys - i got my voters card on the LAST day to register in TX 10.6...should be a bit more efficient in my mind; -

oh - i just wish "those" who insist on putting a McCain/Palin sign at the entrance of my ranch ..... can you PLEASE make them out of wood rather than metal???? cause i really need kindling for my fire pit come this winter. security cameras & no trespassing signs, i swear can only be respected by democrats....LOL - sorry, had to go there:biggrin:
-
very quiet.... renewed - glad your son is feeling better, hope his infection clears up soon!! not really posted, as i've been doing much more weight training the last 2wks, and only have run 3 times. floundering about where to "go next" in this workout deal....can't do the tri the end of oct; conflicts w/the night before costume party & can't commit to not having a "good time"....LOL do plan on running in the AM; shooting for over 4miles - we'll just see how that all pans out....LOL
-
YEAH, 2 days & counting.... as far as protein goes, my dr suggested for a woman my age:eek: to shoot for 50-60gms per day. 50 seems to be the average amt for me & i rely on food as the source of that protein vs bullets or shakes. not to say i won't and don't have a shake every other day or so....just not a given. i'm not sure if my hair fell out, i'm one that use to have her hair thinned out because of TOO much - i do a shot of centrum liquid every day & that's it for vitamins for me....probably should do more:rolleyes: posting that it looks like rain....luv rain:wub:
-
thank you leslie / ebony:regular_smile: today - 1mile bike warm up 90min trainer session - this biggest loser show has the trainers @24hrfit doing smiliar routines & i can barely type this, my arms hurt to hold up...LOL "last chance workout" - full body workout cardio & weight training, till i about puked. didn't have enough food in me & i felt it.

i replaced my "sweet tea" fix for an arnold palmer. it's half nonsweetened tea and half SF lemonade = crystal light. sounds utterly weird but when i have a sweet tea craving this is what i do now....diet cokes are a thing of the past:rolleyes:
-
i remeber getting married @125; so that was the number i held onto - even though my dr suggest 15lbs heavier would be ideal. i'm very short & pretty active - the closer i got to around 125lbs, i realized i could stand to go a bit lower and hit a BMI of 19-21 which unknowlingly was my target BMI range #. i'm not sure i'm going to drop any more pounds - i'm pretty happy right now; no complaints...i always looked at losing weight in 10lb increments - so not to get focused on a number that didn't seem immediately attainable.
-
today - 3.75mile run - "suppose" to play twilight golf tonite; we'll see if hubby's up for it. hope the little guy is feeling better today renewed. the game was very sad to watch.
-
bloo - i've found them at walmart, krogger as well as target. i love this cheese. thanks a lot:tongue: yesterday ~ b- tru diva egg muffin (ham/chipolte cheddear/chillis) - YUM, haven't done eggs (well) for a few months....this was wonderful s- 2oz honey greek yogurt w/strawberries l- chipolte cheddar stick/hummus w/wheat thins & carrots d- 1c red beans & rice (brown)
-
thanks ya'll... renewed ' bout time you showed up!!! :crying:
-
today - 1hr walk - such a pretty morning..... georgia, thank you (food thread) for the nice comment. bandanniversary for hubby and i today. wasn't going to do anything - but thought that sorta defeats the purpose of why i got the band....so took an early walk; hubby sleeping in of course. LOL in a yr: lulu - 77lbs lost; 98% excess weight loss lulu's DH - 68lbs lost; 103% excess weight loss not bad, the route i walked today was the first real walk i had after being banded. i remember HUFFING it - lots of hills & thought wow i run this now..:crying:
-
thanks - yeah still have a caboose, but i'm actually embracing the curves this time around. i'm short & curvy (always have), carried most of the weight below the belly - hips/thigh/butt. now my bra size is equal proportioned to the hips....LOL:tongue: bbk - did i follow that correctly???? hmmmm, odd.
-
you probably want to check w/your dr - he/she may want you to wait a bit before doing ab exercises. mine suggested i wait 2 months out. i love this thread was started in the fitness & exercise forum...:crying:
