nazzy, i couldn't stomach broth (the taste was awful after surgery). i only had 2 days of clear - then onto liquids & i really enjoyed egg drop soup during this period. i wasn't hungry at all till 2 1/2wks out & i literally lived on the soup during that time..along w/a Protein drink here/there.

yesterday - b- kashi blueberry waffle w/tsp Peanut Butter s- ostrich Jerky stick l- 1c ground turkey taco meat w/tbsp LF sour cream & salsa d- few bites of crab dip & 2 coconut shrimp

i think i've tried just about all of them, because i hate water plain. the after taste was just too much to handle, and i would get a headache w/some.... i just keep LOTS of lemons on hand, and whatever fruit (strawberries/melon/oranges), and cut up and make a 60oz carafe of water & fruit and drink on that each day. i'm less worried about the sugar from fruit than of artificial sweetners.

ohhhhh, enjoy those 48hrs:eek:.... LOL, sorry couldn't resist. hope SNT is doing well & properly drugged.:wink2:

ha!!!! LOL, cute brandy. take jachut's position another step... RULES - there are no rules - just guidelines ... at least that was my discharge paperwork header stated, "Guidelines". it's become quite comical when a question is posed, and you answer based on your experience and your path. to be told your breaking the rules is just nonsense. your rules are your rules, my guidelines are those that i follow or change up. there is no absolute. my husband is also banded, we don't even follow the same exact guidelines - because we're different and our bodies don't react the same to a "certain" diet or exercise. when i ask a question - as i did in the thread i believe peeved J off; i didn't get a reply - just links to a well crafted document that didn't explain a scientific question i had. so, i have come to believe here, that many are asking questions for those to only answer that share the same opinion. i'm getting better at sniffing those out, and will pass onto the next thread...

Cheese anyone-14 days post op??????????
luluc replied to Baptist Bandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that is my husband, he feels queso should be it's own food group and eaten daily:eek: -
it's the only way i can watch it - that and the product placements / advertising....i got wk 1 who the sponsors were. keep wondering if a pshychological exam was done on the contestants....seems this season a lot more drama (guess that would be the case however w/families), who knows....DH is done watching, says he doesn't care for any of the contestants...left to watch alone..:frown:LOL i should go back in my tivo and count how many minutes of a 2hrs show, had actual physical activity - gym work. i watch project runway for it's drama - i "liked" BL for the hardcore working out.....still holding out they get a move along...

:laugh::laugh: that was funny!! renewed hope the little guy is feeling better soon; can't imagine how scarey it must be to have had to admit him... ok - getting serious now w/working out. i feel like a self described lapband hangover getting past the 1yr mark. just in "what next mode" and i don't do well in that frame of mind, my workouts have been half assed' - i'm not doing enough cardio...eating way too much, and the 2 beers this wkend didn't help the scale drama this morning. so back in the saddle: today - 4.25mile bike warm up 90min training session - full body weight training 20min elliptical *going to start doing more cardio after weight training*
-
yeterday - b- veggie spring roll s- chipolte cheese stick & crackers l- 1c edamame s- apple w/peanut butter d- 2oz filet & half blue cheese wedge salad

Has Anyone Cheated On The Pre-Op Liquid Diet ?
luluc replied to Tyme2GetRite's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thank you. i lost 75lbs in 10 months, with 125 being my original goal & wouldn't mind getting to 118 - which puts my bmi around 20. i'm very short, barely 5'1 & am just going to keep doing what i am with diet & exercise and if i drop a bit more - OK, if not - i'm more than happy with the current results......all the best w/your band journey -
Has Anyone Cheated On The Pre-Op Liquid Diet ?
luluc replied to Tyme2GetRite's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i didn't have a pre-op diet; but it's probably more important to not cheat on the Post Op Diet - as your healing & the band is settling in place. i did advance to solid foods a few days earlier - but that was after my appt w/my surgeon & he told me to take it WAY slow. check out the food/nutrition forums - there are a BUNCH of food suggestions for all phases of the post op process. -
so over the election - wish i could vote & get it over w/, not that it matters in my state, my vote at least...LOL posting that i have picked & nibbled ALL day long. not like me, but too many people here - annoying hubby & TOM on the horizon????

Scared to even go to my appointment...
luluc replied to rcruz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my surgeon does not do my fills either, however he told me early on - to call him if they give me or my husband (banded also) a hard time. he's my dr - they're staff of his, and they shouldn't be adding their own spin to the process. check w/your surgeon - find out the fill schedule & how soon that can happen. if the fill dr is saying something different - that's a problem. i see the point in waiting a period of time between fills - my last one kicked in after 3 months - however the slow out of the gate at a snails pace doesn't encourage those who need a bit more aggressive approach. off my box now... -
posting - the remodel of our farm house is driving me insane....taking forever and the upstairs bath is being worked on today ... banging , cutting tile - more banging.. hubby is sick - so i get to hear him whine all day; makes me want WINE!!!

Scared to even go to my appointment...
luluc replied to rcruz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
is your fill dr different that your lapband surgeon? if so, i would let your surgeon & his/her staff know of your displeasure. i was able to go every 2wks for a fill - what is your timeline like? -

luluc replied to rcruz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it gets a lot easier to control what you eat - but you have to have restriction first. that's your doctors role; your's is to be compliant w/the guidelines given. no joke it took 8 fills before i got to my sweet spot (if there is such a thing..LOL), and yeah everyone has days where they mess up the diet - but so do normal weight persons. they indulge in sweets & treats - but it's limited, that's how i view the band....i want to enjoy all foods, but in moderation. i would be honest w/your dr that you are struggling with willpower and dieting & need another fill. you shouldn't feel scared, it's your band & you should have a voice in it's operation:wink: -
Where would a person buy Greek yogurt?
luluc replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
in dallas i'm noticing more & more stores carrying it: krogger/walmart/whole foods....got some at super target the other day. i like the individual oikos honey 5.3oz cups - i seem to put honey in the greek yogurt anyway with some bare naked granola... -
planned to go for a run this AM & was SO thankful to hear the rain on our tin roof....LOL wed is normally my day off & i should just keep it that way, as i train tues/thurs w/my trainer and i feel like i was hit by a truck today. ceradad - 5lbs then your DONE!!!!!!! plan on losing more or is that your final #?
-
but she was on survivor,... SNT - good luck!!!!, remember what i said about posting while on the good meds.....PLEASE don't let us down..

i weight train twice a wk w/a trainer, 3-4 days of cardio (bike/running/elliptical) & try to squeeze in a yoga class wkly. i eat around 1100-1200 calories a day, for someone who is 5'1 & 123lbs - seems like maintenance mode lately which is fine. i do drink w/my meals, a no no it seems by many drs - but not mine. i just pay attention about my calories & where they come from - i enjoy a balance of proteins/carbs/fruits & veggies, having an occassional drink w/my meals hasn't been a problem or prevented weight loss. good luck to you!!
