    Menorrhagia?

i had extremely painful periods, along with endometriosis. back in july i had endometrial ablation (novasure), which has made a HUGE impact on my periods with regards to pain & flow. my cycle is more like every 6wks..so far:)
  3. i was just about to respond to you.....Dr Felts did my surgery @SC Richardson. your post broke my heart to read. i can't imagine what your going through - i have constant concerns that the band will not last forever & my husband tells me to get over it, but he also has never been on this site. i'm hopeful, like you that if something should have happen to my band, i've learned enough about nutrition/exercise to be able to maintain the weightloss....you have a great attitude about that.!. like mac also said, get your band & talk w/your doc about the possibility of a damaged product...., you "may" be able to recoup some of your monies from the manufacturer??? let us know how it pans out!!! also stay on the site, there are several on here that have lost their band, might try posting in the complication or life after band forums... lulu

  7. i would have been screwed. in a yrs time i had 8fills & it was only by fill #5 did i feel "some" restriction. #8 was what gave me my sweet spot - but after 3 months i had gotten tighter, and subsequently have had 3 unfills. my fill schedule was one that i could have gone every 2wks. i typically waited longer to see if the fill "would" kick in - like i had read so many had said. i averaged every 4wks. first i've read on a time limit....i was self pay and had a free fill schedule the first yr or 10 (no charge for unfills).....

  11. steve - i really enjoy your posts. i've stayed away from the political convos lately - because of the sheer nonsense discussed. i am voting for obama, i am pro choice, palin is the joke that will disgrace mccain's political career....there i feel better. continue the debate...
  12. not sure who your surgeon was, i'm also in NTX & my surgeon did my husbands an hr after mine. i'll take it you were self pay? that band is your's, i'd call and get it and have it examined by the manufacturer & also get a second opinion from another band dr...you may not know of damage done by the dr for possibly a few wks out, so i would have myself examined by another doc. sorry your going thru this -
  13. karen - your results are amazing.!.

    Band to Large?

my surgeon thought he should have put a 4cc band in me (he 99% of the time uses 10 or 14cc bands) because it took so many fills & 8.5cc in a 10cc band before i had the least bit of restriction. i'm fine now - currently @ 7.2ccs ... but i do believe it halted my progression to restriction having a larger band than my body really needed.

    Successful Bandsters Past and Present

after post op diet - i cut my carbs almost completely out, just to shake the "craving". i was a lover of potatos/pizza/pasta & cutting them out in the beginning, helped me lose the taste of the chips/breads/noodles for the most part. right now i eat pretty much what tastes good (what i'm in the mood for), and on most days it's a healthy variety of protein/carbs/fruits & veggies. i'm not a sweet person - but i will indulge in my salt cravings every now & then. i watch my calories & exercise regularly. i was a bit disappointed in the beginning because i didn't lose as fast as i thought i would - but journaling my food & exercise helped keep me from getting distracted from the goal of a healthy life style. good luck to ya, oh, check out this thread - every stage bandster posts what they have eaten; can get some good ideas: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f9/share-ideas-what-did-you-eat-today-36828/index144.html
