    when the scale was / is just evil, i love my tape measure....it never lets me down!!!! i've had several plateaus, but i always manage to drop an inch here / there.....good advice!
  2. i had the reverse - insurance paid for EVERY test, but denied me. had planned to be self pay either way.... i agree w/jodi - if self pay isn't an option ... i would look to get some pre authorization from your insurance, or get a copy of your policy and see what it actually says - requirement wise for WLS.

    yesterday - 20min elliptical / 20min stairmaster today - all cardio & 20mins of each: treadmill (running) / elliptical / bike / treadmill (walking)

  7. i'm on the "low" side of Protein grams per day (50-60ish), and i get that 90% of the time from food. i'll add a Protein Drink here/there when in the mood or need extra before or after a workout. in general - i do a lot of food planning & prep & keep "good" treats around for snacks: Jerky, raw nuts, fruit, veggies. etc. i noticed cliff bar has mini ones now (100cal) and that seems to be my husbands favorite while he's traveling for work..., i'm sure others will chime in, sorry about the hairloss - really glad i didn't have that issue.

    he lost around 80lbs....he floats around 220-230 @ 6'3. he can really go up & down 5-7lbs in a day depending on his "salt" intake.

    ear bug, that's what SNT calls it....LOL i have bohemian rhapsody still in my head (last song on the ipod at the gym this am). mac - i told DH after banding that i'm going to be selfish & he needed to be on board with me via gym/trainers. it took him about 3 months and he decided that he wanted to join me in the gym. now my trainer trains him as well. i say go for the gym YOU want.

    absolutely - it's tuff in cyber world. since i can't talk w/out using my hands...i don't expect my written word to be read the same as an actual converstation...so the same can be said in my readings here. respectful balance is a good thing... GO Big BLUE!!!!.

    you KNOW i :cool2::wub::biggrin: ya, however i think it's really important to note that those supporting obama are not all looking for a handout/handup, are against the military, or want to hug a tree. your going to identify with one of these candidates based off your personal belief/value system .. it's a tad unfair to lump party litmus tests onto the "groups" (both party) as a whole...i don't with my republican hubby..., but then again he voted for obama:tongue:
  16. slim, i started out slow the wk of surgery. my driveway is a mile long - so i started walking daily part of it; then all of it..then up / down a couple times. i'm on a 50+acre ranch, that has a lot of riding trails - so i started trekking out back, all while having a gym membership - go figure...just wasn't ready to get in the gym. by january it was cold & i just decided to go to the gym. started changing up cardio: elliptical / bike / treadmill / stairmaster. i wanted to after a month or so to start weight training so i got a trainer. we've been working out since the first of march, twice a wk and i do another 3/4 days of cardio. he helped me train for the 5ks and though i don't love running at all - that bit of training really help the overrall appearance of my body. i take a day or 2 off each wk - just depends; there are days i just don't want to workout - but drag myself to the gym anyway, it became a habit around 6wks out......

    walked about a qtr mile, my best friend and i are no good running together...we blab too much, got winded & started a coughing fit. our husbands were at the finnish line, and i just heard mine yell...run lulu run, i appreciated his forrest gump reference. LOVE sunday mornings - it's quiet; DH sleeps in & i can od on coffee in peace...LOL

    tad late to the comparisson, shouldn't have cut all my hair SNT, hun??? change of avtr time.... VB hates food * exercise - i dig both. i have EVERY political spectrum in my set of family / friends - be boring otherwise; not much can change my mind - but i enjoy my MIL trying.

  23. i AM looking forward to turkey day - coudn't enjoy it last yr. yesterday - b- kashi honey/cin oatmeal (half the packet) l- mango smoothie extra protein shot d- fried pickles (i know - gross taps:wink:) with LOTS of ranch:drool: s- pumpkin seeds & cranraisins, about a cups worth

    yes susan, they're horse folks - but are looking to downsize as 70 approaches....they have a condo in miami ; but that area is so pretty - it really is my favorite part of FL....be sad when they sell she, if i could lick a stamp on lil' man, i'd ship him...he's such a lover & will be a great pet for someone... volcanos/tornados/earthquakes oh MY......i'm craving fried pickles right now w/jalapeno ranch.. :smile2:
