i had issues about putting this bit of info out "here"...but i'm just going to because of a LOT of ugliness & have NO idea if media will report it - though locally it has. if any of you are familiar with Dallas, TX - 35N; right by the Dallas Zoo, there was an errected banner with a man in a cloak with KKK written underneath. DH called me from the road, and i told him to go take a PIC. rush hour i realize, but i am absolutely disturbed. really, really???? INSANE - this was done in a predominantly black area of downtown & for the last few hours, all i can say is WOW. truly sickening!

i'm actually not going to debate you patty, already done that w/my inlaws (who HAD shared your same beliefs). what helped them evolve in their thinking was when their daughter finally came out as a lesbian. i give them a HARD time, all the time - but even though deep down they may have personal struggles over gay marriage...it IS their wish their daughter can have the same rights as their son. but then again, their son got married to me in vegas - not ordained by "god"....so not sure in your mind we're actually legit either....i just have a thing for tom jones:wink: not sure which poster said it - but they have determined "why would anyone" choose to be gay, knowing how society could treat them. it's not an easy life, and though i give my fox news emblem scortched into their TV screen inlaws grief - i'm very proud they treat their daughter and her WIFE respectfully. i get that it's not your cup of tea, or your value system.....but there are worse issues at hand than gay marriage.

hey crazycatlady - no "official" challenge. most set personal monthly exercise goals & post here daily / wkly / etc..... right now i'm training for a mini tri in jan.....remains to be seen if i can hack it...LOL

hi apples, i keep ostrich jerky handy: OSTRIM meat stick, low carb snacks, healthy snacks for kid, sports nutrition supplement, high protein snacks, high protein food, low carbohydrate diet my trainer turned me onto them...they're a bit softer, 80 calories per stick & 14g protein. lu~

lisa, i cackled when i read this. technical mountain biking....do you do that on trails? hubby and i dropped our bikes off to be serviced - just found a lake near the gym that has trails - we use to LOVE biking. today - 2mile bike warmup 50min trainer session - all body workout, weights & resistance

:tongue: hubby says the same thing - that i more than likely picked up a bug in the dr's office. still won't get a flu shot again, - however i think it's a good idea to have anti nausea meds on hand at all times,

not really:cool: - i had a LONG talk w/my surgeon before banding that i considered wine a food group. he laughed & told me i might be a cheaper date in banding days....not so much:sneaky: posting to say - ya'll did a LOT of late night posting last night!! vote!

oh she i LOVE horses...my old man is too old to ride. when we bought our ranch, he came along for the ride, and he "we guess" is around 35'ish according to the equine vet. enjoy your holiday!!!!!

not an RN, however i DID have a flu shot last monday, at hubby's urging due to some international travel we have in the next few months. i GOT sick - tummy sick, not made up sick - running to the loo every 5 minutes SICK. my lapband dr called in for anti nausea meds immediately, and though i didn't "puke" - i was down for 5 days hard with what i would say is the flu & i hadn't been sick in yrs. i'm reminded of the line from devil wears prada - "i'm one stomach flu away from my goal weight"....i did lose 6lbs - but haven't had a problem the last day or 2 working back up... odd - just odd. i'll never get a shot again, that's for sure.

i think it's REAL easy not to see what others do....i was totally able to notice when the double chin left; but i struggled with looking in the mirror at my legs - specifically the thigh/hip/butt area. i was in the gym the other day, walking into the womens changing area - when i noticed daylight between my legs...had to look twice, that they were indeed attached to me. i think we can be harder on ourselves than anything anyone else can say / do....which might be the reason it takes us longer to notice significant changes,

that is TOO funny.!!. i have much more vivid dreams - i'm guessing a more restful sleep due to exercise & weightloss???
