you shouldn't be silent for sharing your value system - nor should you not expect those that don't "believe" as you do, not respond. if you don't have malice or hate in your heart; then you would have no issue with those who love who they do & want a legal commitment that is "maybe not like yours". you have EVERY right to post your opinion of the matter - as do others to respond in kind...it is R&R.

they have their own thread TYVM - i however find it ironic who likely supported the ban of adoption to gays & unmarried individuals in Ark, which isn't off base in the discussion of this thread topic.
-
nor was i. amazingly - or rather not, arkansas voted to not only prohibit the gay community from adoption - but also unmarried couples. love to know the pro life movements view on this - or really, maybe not:confused:

Which band do you have? And are you happy with it?
luluc replied to dietpeach's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i have the 10cc APS & would have wished i had gotten a smaller band (4cc). i started out with a low BMI, and required 8 fills before restriction - that was 6 months post op... i had to do a lot of work on my own before i could rely on the band. -
posting to say that it's a quiet posting day ...

Are We ready for a Black President?

the holidays in my family are FANTASTIC - for just what you state watcher. i'm half catholic/jewish - raised essentially liberal, DH's family is evangelical christian, republican with a gay daughter (kinda like chenney). many try to keep things "cordial"....till i open the wine and let my mom loose. no physcial altercations - just some really healthy convos; that just make the holidays that more special:wink_smile: -
Single, 32, no kids, anyone else like me to buddy with?

hey laura, the day before pre-op appt i weighed in at 200lbs even - the most ever for me. the following morning before surgery i was 195, so somewhere in the middle is what i actually was - i just picked 200 as my starting number - just to round things out & be pissed i got to that number. i'm fairly short - just at 5'1, and i had since marriage piled on 75lbs and they were not coming off w/out help. though i didn't have any health issues, my weight was a problem emotionally & socially. i'm glad i got the band, nothing else was helping me lose the weight & more importantly i have a tool to prevent any gain - which just seemed to sky rocket as the yrs went on.... your going to do GREAT. it may come off slower, due to having what i guess is a low bmi - don't compare yourself to anyone elses journey here, you'll get discouraged & you just need to concentrate on you....congrats on your new band!!!!!!!! -
Spaghetti Squash Chicken Spaghetti???
luluc replied to claire0823's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i really don't worry about the carbs & fat in the sauces i make, due to the fact i'm backing out rice or Pasta. i found cutting too much fat out, made me hungry sooner. -

Spaghetti Squash Chicken Spaghetti???
luluc replied to claire0823's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
claire - i use spaghetti squash in a LOT of meals. i ususally just replace Pasta or rice with the squash for meals such as, meat/tomato sauce, stir frys (pork/chicken/all veggie). one chicken dish i do is cut the breast in small thin strips (marinate in a hot sesame / black bean sauce) add: green onion/mushrooms/red pepers/bean sprouts and with an asian touch - i'll serve that over the squash rather than rice or pasta.. there is a lot you can do & make with this veggie.!. -

hey lisa, was banded over a yr ago, along with my husband - best decision for us. like cattoy, we decided after a bit that we were going to be one of those childless couples & our relationship is all about us.....minus a ranch full of critters (horses / longhorns & too many dogs)... it was very special for hubby and i to go through this process together; ... though he got to goal a whole lot sooner than me. i wish you all the best on your upcoming surgery, and for the record - you WILL be able to eat enchilladas again!!! lulu -

i'm not going to pick apart your post entirely - i copied it to make certain references .... so there is no picking going on. No matter what your income you should be christian - but i'm half jewish, - i really can't stand the religious angle when it comes to how politics/taxes/female judicial rights/GLBT rights are to be handled. back in this thread, i was told that my contributions should be considered charity. i'm fortunated enough, in these times to have retired at a very early in age & not feel the crunch that others have. i don't sleep well, knowing if i can help - i should....i can have all the money in the world; but if my girlfriends who are struggling; cant' do or enjoy the things i do, are embarrassed i picked up the lunch tab again ... i just can't feel good about that. i grew up with the philosophy that those who have should give. i get many don't share that same thinking - my mom used to carry loose change in her pocket as we hit the streets of NYC as a kid. always passing out. the reason i REPEAT this story; is because it's been the GOP and churches that constantly suggest those to do their part....if we "some" who can don't .., who the Heck does?? i can't take it w/me; i have no problem paying more taxes. none at all....DH calls it my jewish guilt built in..., i call it doing whats right. i realize not a popular opinion.
