i make it babygrl - 1 scoop of muscle milk choc protein / 8oz skim milk / 2tsp of SF-FF jello cheesecake pudding / ice cubes & blend. hubby likes to take his EAS strawberry carb control shake and add the cheescake pudding & fresh strawberries...i prefer chocolate. **i'm sure you can use any protein powder & however much more of the pudding mixture you want** donna - i'm w/you about my coffee.

[quote=Brandy~;1059499 I think for me though the LB was the best decision because I am a volume eater. I never was a sweet eater and such so I think it's different for different type of eaters. I do log my food at dailyplate.com so I can see whats working and whats not when I am eating. If I do eat something bad oh well I log it. I still lose anyway. same here, i was a volume eater. i don't have a sweet tooth - didn't do fast food.., i just ate too much of the good food in front of me (fork issues - trouble putting it down). i self imposed rules on myself in the beginning - to wean myself off the salty carbs ; because my DR has no "rules" - well those that i read here. that was for my benefit to get off the Pasta / bread / chip cravings & it worked. i crave healthy food now - and it's easy to make those choices. i still journal my food & exercise because it keeps me sane. i have NEVER been a detailed person in my life; off the cuff individual - but i just took this journey a bit serious & haven't let up. afraid if i stop; ooooh a bag of chips might have a date w/me:tongue:

My doctor will not be happy
luluc replied to Cleo's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i view things a bit different - my dr works for me. being self pay, i bought a 10cc band - and i wanted to make sure my dr was on board in assiting me in losing weight, not set time tables when that should be. we actually have a charming relationship - cause i constantly challenge him and question why?? he's a band only dr and has done thousands. i'm guessing you have a low BMI ??? you should not have the same expectations of weightloss that some others with more to lose do. it's just not going to happen. my dr told me that 6-8lbs a month for a BMI (like mine 35) was ballbark what i should shoot for....it's been higher sometimes / stalled sometimes / or less. i'd let your dr know you need his support, while reaching restriction & placing weight goals may not help. -
i LIVED on egg drop soup in the post op phase, that i swore it off..LOL - actually i will have it every now and then. i make a lot of asian stir frys, to cut the MSG/salt out...but sushi , can't get enough of it.

on my toes i'm 5'1 - but i still claim it:wink: i'm not sure i buy that story, that shorties can't lose - i would suspect it's your PCOS .. not height. it can be done; though i don't have PCOS - i was a bit slower in the beginning losing weight (dr thinks just because i had a low BMI)....still got to a healthy place within a yr, couldn't have done it w/out the band.

surgeon gave little hope for weight loss w/lb
luluc replied to plh2u's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
if you have researched & decided that the lapband is for you - i would suggest seeking out another dr. i wouldn't want someone who has only done 30 lapbands, rather someone with a LOT more experience....thus the reason he is encouraging gastric bypass. it' is completely feasible you can lose more than 50lbs with the lapband. i needed to lose 75lbs & did so in less than a year. -
congrats leslie!! today - 20min run / 20min bike

i'll have a cold beer every now and then...mostly on VERY hot days. if i go slow; i have no issues and it REALLY fills me up.
-
i guess that would be dr dependent. i had coffee & tea on my post op liquids .... i gave up the diet coke, to take the coffee away would have been just cruel - especially to those around me...in the AM:eek:
-
pepermint tea. i've had to have 3 unfills, and in the "waiting" time - pepermint tea relaxed my band & allowed for at least soups & soft food to get in. it' also settles my belly. hope your feeling better soon & your symptoms die down... lu

so i got an idea from another bandster....take your left over coffee & put in ice trays - freeze. when i do my shake (on choc/cheese cake kick now) - rather than the avg ice cube - i used the iced coffee cubes for the extra kick / caffeine... that is if your a coffee lover like me..

same thing happened to me, my periods got much worse (bleeding / pain). in july when i had lost most of what i needed to i went and had novasure (endometrial ablation). it's taken about 4 months since that procedure - but my periods are barely there; maybe a 72hr period. i still get a tad PMS - but NOTHING like before. i've read this happen to several ladies here; it's not all together unique, lulu

Wondering why you hit a plateau or regain at about 2-3 weeks post-op? My theory:
luluc replied to Fanny Adams's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thoughtful post fanny - should be made a sticky. there are dozens of this question out each day - and this really breaks it down. -
