  1. Beckyj1023, You sound like me! I had the same concerns 3 weeks in and someone on this site posted that you will never get a "full" feeling from pureed foods and I believe that. I am now on semi solids and I do get the full feeling, however, I have noticed that there are times that it takes a little more to get to that feeling. Since I have noticed this I started tracking everything on my fitness pal so I don't overdo it. BTW: The pureed stage does stink. Hang in there. mi solids are much better.
  2. Samehmm I had my surgery just one day before you, so I am no expert either, but everything I have read on this site and others leads me to believe that we will be able to feel normal again eventually. I also miss that. I'm sure there are others out there that feel this way too but may be a little shy about admitting it. I also feel some pain if I eat too fast. I'm pretty sure it is completely normal. However, if your pain isn't tolerable or doesn't go away fairly quickly, you may want to consult with your surgeon just to be safe.....at least for peace of mind. One thing I am reminded of every time I get on this site is that everyone's healing process is a little different as well as their experience with eating post-surgery. Try to stay positive and Celebrate your weight loss! The rest will come over time. Good luck!!!!

    eating too much?

Jersrose, I am eating about 6 small meals a day, per doctor instructions. I never eat more than about a half a cup at a time, so it surprised me too to see my calories add up to about 1000/day on myfitnesspal. I did have trouble getting my Protein in at first, but now that I am on soft foods it seems easy. Tuna salad, eggs, cheese. Those have been my "go to" foods because of the protein content ...and I like them a lot. I also eat Protein Bars called "Power Crunch" . The PA at my docs office reccommended them. They are high in protein, but also high in calories/fat. I have about half of one of those for Breakfast and finish the other half a few hours later. I cannot eat much at one time, but every few hours, I eat something. At the end of the day,it just adds up.

    eating too much?

Bikrchk, That is really good to hear. Thank you. I find that I am eating about 1000 calories a day and I am definitely counting my Protein. The reality is that I need to start exercising. I do take Taekwondo, but haven't gone back yet. Think I will also add some other activity as well. Thanks again!

    eating too much?

Thanks, Kindle. Your comments are encouraging. Congratulations on exceeding your goal!!!! I need to put away the scale but it's so tempting to step on it every morning!!! Of course, then I get frustrated and start my day out in a bad mood. I'm sure that's healthy..... Thanks again.

    eating too much?

Good for you!!!! Perhaps I need to cut back on the fat grams too, then. If I don't see the scale move soon, I will do that. Thanks!

    eating too much?

That helps. Thank you all. Keep it coming! I stick to the Protein and carb counting religiously, but what about fat? Teresah, your nutritionist said no more than 5 grams of fat per meal. That's not much. I have more than that, but still stay well within my carb limits and sugar limits, as well as under 1000 calories. Hopefully I will still see success with it. The weight has got to start coming off again soon. I mean, geez....I'm eating WAY less than I did when I had a normal sized stomach. We will see.
  8. I am in my fourth week now and on soft foods. I track everything in myfitnesspal and am consuming my 60 g of Protein a day and staying below about 60 carbs a day. I don't worry too much about fat, but my calorie intake stays under 1000. Sugar grams are usually very low. I currently weigh 202, and my goal is 130-140. Will I get there this way? I have been reading a lot on this site and it seems there are folks out there limiting themselves to 500-600 calories a day. That seems like not enough to me. I have been stalled with my weight loss for a little over a week now, although I'm told that is normal at this time in the process. Any advice would be appreciated. I know exercise will help and I need to start that. Am I eating too much?
  9. Thank you to everyone that has replied so far!!!!! I am overwhelmed by all of the support! It helps to know that this is common. Summertime friend.......you asked me how I was feeling and the answer is GREAT!!! I really have a lot more energy and am feeling just fine. Better than I have in a long time, so I know something is going right. I will press on and keep doing what I need to and I am sure the weight will start coming off again. THank you all for your responses!
  10. I am well into my third week post op, about to my fourth. My weight loss has stalled. I lost 11 lbs. during the first two weeks, but now the scale won't move. Anybody have a similar experience that can offer advice. I am getting my Protein in most days, but still nothing. Help!!!
  11. Ishlaud, I am just beginning my 3rd week post op. Thought you'd like to know that I am beginning to feel different now. Started pureed foods and am finding that I do get the fullness feeling. I am really having to be careful and take small bites slowly or I get uncomfortable. So, I don't think I had anything to worry about and neither do you. Congrats on your progress so far! Hope this helped.
  12. Thanks, guys. It helps to know that this is normal. Looking forward to that full feeling after eating very little! BTW: Congrats to both of you for your successful weight losses!
  13. Hi Everyone. I am new to this forum. First time poster..... I had sleeve surgery on August 4th and I am worried because I really don't feel any different. I have been sticking to my liquid diet of Protein shakes and sugar free drinks, but I never get the feeling of fullness. I thought with the pouch being so small, I would barely be able to drink what I am required to. I am worried that when I go to more solid foods that I still won't feel different and will overeat. Anyone else have a similar experience? Am I being paranoid? I have lost weight this week....about 4-5 lbs which puts me at about a 16lb. total loss since 2 weeks before the surgery. Any advice is welcome.
