I was banded in Toronto by Dr Yau as well. Never flown said I never would But, I so wanted this surgery. I would have been terrified if that happened to me. I was banded on October 25/07 and flew back home to Alberta on Ocotber 26/07. Everything was fine. I hope next time things are better for you.

Not feeling full at all!
18 again replied to Mysticalks's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for your advice everyone. I love to read as usually the answer to my questions is on here. I go for my first fill on Dec 7/07 and can't wait. I have not been drinking a lot of water so I am going to start and hopefully that helps with my hunger. -
How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
18 again replied to Wendell Edwards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank-you for all the information. I don't get my first fill until Dec 7/07. Iam finding that I can eat anything, I am always head hungary. I can't wait for my first fill. -
Melissa No I have not had a fill yet. I go on Dec 7/07 for my first one I refer to it as the honeymoon period as that is what I have read on this site and Canadian Bandsters before I had surgery. From the time you have surgery until you go on solids you loose a lot of weight after solids its about 1-2 pounds a week. I was loosing a pound a day until I stopped walking 2-4 miles a night. I was so excited about that amount of scale movement. Congrats on a job well done. I wish you much continued success. 18 Again

Wow!!!! 25lbs you are doing great. I am going to go back to walking and start on my exercise bike and gazelle I will just listen to my body. I am in the honey moon period and this is when you loose the most weight. I don't want to do the 1-2 lbs at this stage. Keep up the great work. Good luck on your journey. 18 Again

THANK-YOU I WILL START OUT SLOW AND KNOW THAT I AM BANDED AND WILL STILL LOOSE WEIGHT. I AM SO USE TO DIETS FAILING I HAVE TO GET PAST THAT. THANKS 18 AGAIN

Hi Everyone I hope you are all doing well and had an enjoyable halloween. I have a question I am hoping someone can answer. I was banded on Oct25/07 at TLBC. I walked around downtown Toronto the day after my banding. I have walked everyday at home about 2-4 miles and once used my Gazelle for 30 minutes until Oct 30 ,when I had started spotting. The nurse at TLBC said I was over doing it and shouldn't exercise like that until I am 6 weeks post -op. But I was losing a pound a day and really wanting to continue that. So now I have come down with a horrible cold and can't do anything except work, cook and sleep. Once I am better and can go out walking again how long should I walk? I just don't think that 20 minutes is going to be long enough...:help:I sure could use some advice.

Misty I was banded on Oct 25/07 and had been walking 2-4 miles everynight since I got home. I ended up bleeding and had to call TLBC to see what was happening. The nurse told me I was over doing it and my body was letting me know it. She said I couldn't walk like that and had to stay of my exercise bike and gazelle for 6 weeks. I haven't walked since the night of October 30 and now I am afraid my weightloss will slow up. I am thinking that if I walk 20 minutes a night I should be okay. I have picked up a horrible cold so that is my plan for next week.I know that doesn't really help you as I am unsure as to how much we are to do at this early stage. Good Luck in your weightloss. 18 Again

I was just banded on October 25. Because of everyone on here I knew to walk as soon as possible and a lot that really helped me. I have had very little dicomfort with the gas. This forum is so very helpful for all of us newbies to get advice before the next step. Thank-you everyone.

Whoopsies!!!! From me I didn't pay attention. I am an October 25/07 Bander.:faint:

Hi Everyone I was banded on Ocotber 25th. How are you all feeling? I was doing great until tonight. 18 Again

Thanks Grace I had my surgery and I am feeling great. I have lost 9 lbs since I started my pre-op diet. I seem to be losing 1lb a day since I was banded but I am afraid if I don't walk lots during the honeymoon period I may not lose anything. Old failures staying on my mind I guess. Grace do you know how I go about getting my Dr's information and band date underneath or above my ticket? I can't get it to work. Good Luck in your Journey Please keep posting 18 Again

Hi Everyone I am knew to this site. I will be having lapband done October 25/07. Has anyone here had theirs done by Dr Yau at the Prince Arthur Medical Centre in Toronto? I am very excited to have this done. I am wanting to lose 84 lbs. How soon after surgery did you notice the wait coming off ? How much did you lose in the first couple of months? I have heard the heavier you are the more you lose. Is there anyone who wants to lose the same as me? My BMI is 33. I have found this site to be very very helpful. Thank-you everyone for posting your before and after emotional and physical feelings. I am a pretty good healer and really want to get this weight off that I have hung onto for so many years. Keep up the great work everyone. I can't wait to watch my ticker move. 18 Again soon:clap2:

Can you please tell me how you get all your Dr and weight information under your ticket? I tried but it doesn't seem to work. Thank-you 18 Again

I am home and very happy with my surgery. I am not having a lot of pain or gas dicomfort. I have been walking everyday thanks to the advise on here. A few people on this site suggested walking to get rid of the gas pain as Gas X wouldn't really work for that kind of body gas, And they must have been right as I feel really good.

Thank-you to you all

God Bless

18 Again

Banded TLBC by Dr Yau in Toronto

Pre op diet weight 209.8

Surgery Date 203.5

October 28/07 200.8

I hope to loose 22lbs in the first four. You know when ever a diet said you could loose say 5lbs I would only loose 1 lb So I have this sort of scared feeling that, that may happen with this....all the reading of everyones posting has sure helped ease that feeling a little. I am also self pay at TLBC so I better make it work.:faint: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ON OCTOBER 25 Thanks for the post Take Care 18 Again:clap2:
-
I had my consult done over the phone. They will have you do blood and X-Ray and your Lab can send/ or fax it to Toronto. I am self pay as my BMI is not high enough to have it done in Calgary.

Is anyone located in Alberta. I am so excited to be in get rid of the excess weight phase. Everything I have tried I have failed at. Congrats to all of you that are on your way to a healthier smaller you. 18 again:clap2:
