10 week plateau anyone?
supercomik replied to supercomik's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you. Three weeks? You must have been going nuts! I'm at about 2 and wanna just go back down under 600 cal but I know that won't solve any problems. -
I'm at just over 10 weeks and nothing. I'm stuck at 38 lbs. increased my working out, and even my calories, as my nutritionist said I should (was barely getting in 600 before) I'm trying to get the liquid in...and have been snacking on raw veggies, to get everything "moving along..." Any other advice? This is normal from what I've read. I am such a "now" person, though, that every time I stall I get frustrated and lose faith!

Thank you. That's exactly what I needed to hear. Especially having done this before... I need people to remind me about the marathon...I'm innately a "sprinter" -

Thank you for your replies. I know that my age (42) has a little bit to do with it so thanks for the heads up on that (I did this once before and lost over 100 lbs on my own thru diet and crazy amounts of exercise but I was 32-33) it just feels like I'm eating SO little; I was probably up to about 2000 cal a day before. I'm just venting because if I knew the proper solution to accelerate my loss, I'd apply it! -
I'm 7 weeks out and eating LESS than 600 cal a day (not always on purpose: I have 4 jobs which are night AND day jobs so my sleep sched is always messy so I sometimes forget to eat after coffee) and I'm stuck on 30 lbs. not complaining. I'm trusting the process...it's just that I can barely get the 600 cal in as is and I'm working out at least 3-6 days a week. Am I crazy? Isn't it supposed to be coming off faster? Total time with pre op shake diet is almost 9 weeks. Anyone else experience a slow weight loss (in "sleeve weight loss time")?

How sweet of you to be so supportive and you're pre op! I know. I have taken myself OFF the scale (plus need a new one. Not a supermarket digital special that changes my weight depending on where I place it on my slanted hardwood floor....Manhattan is ROUGH kids.) I'm allowing myself to just feel the improvements in my body, however slight they are for now. End of this week I can go to strength training which should help. Best of luck to you and congrats!

Thanks everyone. I just needed that. I know that a healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week which I fully expect in the coming weeks...I am just being impatient. I've done this before and lost a lot quickly, but was miserable. I guess I should just enjoy this new ride where it's much easier this time to lose weight. Thanks for the reality check guys!

Been doing everything right. Today marks 3 weeks since surgery. Down 19 (that's with the 4 lb pre surgery shake diet loss) I just feel like it should come off FASTER. my dr seemed pleased. I've been at the gym 19 days straight. Not having more than 800 cal a day. Why isn't it falling off faster? I KNOW it's going to slow down as I get closer to my goal, which is why I assumed the first 30-40 would be quick! Am I a freak? It doesn't hurt in my stomach when I'm full anymore. Could it not be working? Sincerely, a neurotic Jew.

Thanks guys. I appreciate hearing this. It's weird bc it's only been two weeks since surgery but three and a half since I started my shakes prior to surgery. Hoping it's the same type of deal. Thanks for the insight!

I like you Frankie. Good conclusion. Thanks all!

Hey guys don't know if you have Duane reades or cvs or vitamin shoppes where you live but I got these great protein "shots" they don't taste great but they are only 3-4 ounces a piece. The thinner ones are about the size of a five oz energy and have 28 gm protein and the larger ones from vitamin shoppe are whey protein shots and 42 gm protein each. I HATE the isopure. If you're gonna have to have something gross at least make it a smaller amount!
