    One week out whats "normal?"

If u get refried beans they are already puréed and I've been told by my nut that soft cheese is already in the puréed stage so I had a soft cheese stick last night no prob. Just chew it well. But bought a kitchen aid 3.5 cup food chopper which also puréea from bed bath beyond for $40 very good item. Also has a liquid hole to pour skim milk in if the purée is too dry
  2. I have to say, I've been through several surgeries (thus my weight gain) two parents with different cancers and I've never posted on a forum until now (looked but never participated) you guys are great thank you so much. It's good to hear that I will be constantly ingesting. Since I've done this once before (dumb weight loss show) I know logically that my calorie intake is minimal, it's just a weird feeling to NOT feel hungry and believe I'm actually losing. Woke up w minor tummy pains, so the constant stream of PAC maninzing stuff Into my mouth has subsided but we will see how the day progresses. Thank you!

    One week out whats "normal?"

Thank you so much. As soon as I complained...it subsided. Onto puréed. And my lord, the first bite was like going to a five star restaurant! May I recommend trader joes fat free black beans w low fat cheese? A 2 oz serving took me 20 min to eat but was 7 gms protein and DELICIOUS. it feels like regular food bc it's ALWAYS served "puréed in the restaurants! Yum!

Thanks everyone for responding but just FYI. I HAVE been walking every day since the first night After surgery for 30 min to an hour. And that's on top of normal daily chores around the apt which include walkin also I'm not on puréed yet. I feel like I've gotten rid of most of the gas. Is this cramping pain in my stomach )but only after I swallow) more??? I guess bc the rest of me feels so good I'm rushing my internal healing. Just wondering if anyone else felt this pain after swallowing one week out?

I actually only lost 6 but I am under the impression that (unless your doctor has said you are too overweight for surgery) the pre op diet is mainly to shrink your liver as they have to move it during the procedure. Weight loss is just a bonus. If they didn't mandate a weight loss before you're fine. Good for you btw

Two and a half days out. Still in hospital. Now I understand why this is so effective: the mere thought of food disgusts me. It still feels like I hve horrible food poisoning. Always on the verge of nausea. The first few days of recovery are definitely rough, but being in a hospital room with ppl who are awaiting heart transplants, have terminal illness and non elective surgeries certainly helps put it all into perspective. What they say is right: walk as much as possible after the procedure. I should be going home today. Will check in again when it gets better! Best of luck to all of you

Thanks guys. I'm actually excited about the anesthesia. Had to go under for my upper endoscopy. Right before I went down my dr, knowing I was a comic said, any last words. I replied "I know you're using propophyl. And I'm very aware of what the outcome could be. Keep in mind my sister is a lawyer. And we're Jewish"
