August post op sleevers: Check in

I have the same question about Biotin. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this but both of my toenails on my big toes have separated from the nail bed. I had to see a podiatrist yesterday. He said it wasn't fungal and said it was probably because of the surgery and suggested I take Biotin. I did call my surgeon and am waiting for the office to call me back. I really hope my hair doesn't start to fall out too On a good note, I hit 40lbs over the weekend!! Very excited for that. Can't wait to see 50 and 60 lbs. less.

August post op sleevers: Check in

I'm glad I'm not alone with the stalling. I was really getting discouraged. I was stalled at weeks 3 through 5. I was sleeved on August 12th. The scale has started to move again and I am now down 26.2 lbs. So happy

    Coffee?

I waited until 4 weeks to have a cup of coffee and boy did it taste good. I'm having 1 cup a day. I used to drink 3 a day.
  4. I am 1 month today. I have lost 22lbs. I stalled at week 3 but the scale is moving again! Yay!

August post op sleevers: Check in

I was sleeved on August 12th. Lost 21 lbs so far but that was the first 2 weeks. I had the 3 week stall as well. I think stepping on the scale constantly wasn't helping either. But the good news is... I've never lost 21 lbs EVER!. I'm feeling good. I had a post op appt. yesterday and I can now start stage 5 - chewable food! I'm kind of scared. I dont want to gain. Still today, I kept it to yogurt, a Protein shake, refried Beans with cheese, applesauce and water. I am not getting the 60-80 grams of protein needed but my doc said now that I can eat regular food, I should be able to. We'll see. I just can't fit all that food in. I'm so glad I had this surgery. The one thing I hated was pureed foods!! Ick!! But I knew it wouldnt be forever - Thank GOD!! Best of luck to all of you

    NSV: I actually ankles :-)

I said the same thing last week. I'm just about 4 weeks post op and my feet were always swollen. I looked down last week and said - wow! Ankles!! LOL Congrats!

    Dreaded 3 week stall!

Me too. I was going to ask this question today. I lost 20 lbs post op and then have lost nothing this past week. I think Im doing everything right. I'm on week 3 too.
  8. Same with me. I had spasms in my esophagus for the first week every time I drank something. I called the doctor and they assured me it would go away and it did. I'm 3 weeks post op. It will be ok. I also have those hard bumps under my incisions. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I thought something was wrong with me. Hope you start to feel better. It gets easier.
  9. I feel the exact same way. I feel like I'm not full either. I had my surgery on August 12th. I'm on the pureed stage which by the way I hate! Is it me? Everything just tastes really bad. I'm sticking to eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, V8 juice, Protein shakes and really really mashed up turkey meatballs with low sodium tomato sauce. I'm really having a hard time with the pureed foods. But I know that's not the topic here. There are some days I don't feel full either. I'm getting concerenced because it's taking me no time at all to drink a Protein shake. I can drink it in 10 minutes with no side effects whatsoever. Anyone else like this?
  10. I am 3 weeks and 1 day post op and the incision right above my belly button is still very sore but not painful. It's right on my pant line too. I too find that when attemping to get up from the sitting position I hold that area up and it doesnt hurt as much. Try that. Hope you feel better soon.
