Hungry? When did everyone's hungry start once they were banded?
parrot0927 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Monday, 12/3/2007. I was on clear for 48 hours then only fluids (like shakes) until today. Today I get to have mushies. My question is...when did the hungry start for everyone? I'm not hungry. I have to force myself to sip my shakes, Water, etc. I nibbled on scrambed eggs this morning. They were yummy; but I wasn't hungry and knew I had to eat so I did. Thanks! -
Has anyone heard of or tried Zylene, the dietary supplement? A friend of mine has been taking it. She had the lapband surgery and this is helping remove inches and curves her mental hungry pains. Thanks.

The grocery bill has not gone down...

I'm there with you. We eat better than before. It is really sad that it costs more to eat healthy than junk! -
I completely agree. Once was enough for me to learn and once was enough for my 3 kids. There is a line between spanking and beating. The government needs to stay out of families business and put God back in the schools. USA was founded on the principals of the Bible and God. People need to remember this.

weight gain right after surgery
parrot0927 replied to Stay_Tuned's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 5 pounds with my pre-surgey diet. I had surgery and gained 12 pounds. i lost it within 1 week. it was fluid from the surgery and iv. -
GNC, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, etc. Many drug, grocery, and superstores have different types of Protein shakes. I use unjury which I get from www.unjury.com. I love their unflavored and chocolate. I mix the unflavored in with other foods. I use powdered milk and ice with the chocolate. I mix it to the thickness of a wendy's frosty for a treat. YUM! I also keep slimfast high protein cans in the frig for a quick fix when I'm running crazy. There's a website where you can try samples of different shakes for a small fee. Good luck!!

A friend of mine had hers done in Mexico. She has had complications. She has not been able to find a doctor in VA that will touch her for the fill. Her insurance wouldn't cover the surgery which is why she went to Mexico. Her words to me when I told her I was looking to have it: Don't go to Mexico. I was lucky and my insurance covered it.

I'm a slow loser and it's okay. i have lost 40 pounds since december 07. i'll take it. i would rather lose slow than fast with hanging skin or not loose at all.

Welcome to the wonderful Landbanktalk.com!! Great weightloss so far! Keep up the good work!!

i would never think of doing it. What if you put in too much? OMI. There are some things that should NEVER be done on one's self...a fill is one of them.

Protein, my kingdom for good protein
parrot0927 replied to jocarojo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unjury is good. I love the chocolate flavor. I also get lots of protein from vegan foods. I have eliminated hoof animals and am working on eliminating the beaks. I still love my fish and seafood, though. I just don't digest hoof animals like I did before. I don't like the way I feel and you really don't get much protein in 2 oz of animal compared with vegan foods. -
NOT Losing Weight anymore and Trying sooo hard
parrot0927 replied to happy2be's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i measure myself every other week. you can loose inches and not pounds. it can be very stressful but having inches melt helps. -
Beef is my enemy! UGH! bird and pigs are okay for me, though.

I own a TOTAL GYM XLT. It is great. I also work out in the gym at time for the treadmill and glider. I get a great cardio workout on the total gym. The one I got has over 80 exercises and a pilates DVD. I LOVE IT. I don't need a babysitter for my daughter or worry if the gym has childcare. I don't need to wait for DH to come home. You can get the total gym for $1.00 and broken over monthly payments at Total Gym® - Official Store - Endorsed by Chuck Norris . That's where I got mine. Again, Love IT!

APPROVED - Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
parrot0927 replied to dustout's topic in Insurance & Financing
it is very hard to get plastic surgery covered for hanging skin from anthem bcbs. they used to cover it more easily than before; but they (at the many groups requests) are not covering it. you can't blame anthem. it is the group (employers, etc) who request what is covered and what it not. if you don't have the obesity rider, you usually don't get lap band or gastric covered regardless of your BMI, weight, health, etc. -
The View is talking about weight loss today. it's great. i wish they would have talked about the lap band surgery. all i hear about is gastric bypass. at least they agreed that the surgery is a tool and not cheating like the today show did.
