I take wal-mart's version of flintstone chewables. they work great for me.

I tell anyone who wants to know. I don't lie about my weight loss. I am not ashamed of using this wonderful tool called the lap band. I could meet someone who wants to do it or doesn't know how wonderful it is. I want to mentor to someone who might need it.

I agree. It is great they lost it; but the Today Show needs to educate the viewers on ALL WEIGHT LOSS tools. That's what the lap band is - a tool. I need to still watch what and how much I eat, I still need to exercise. MMM? That's what they did isn't it?

I'm in the same boat with you. I have my first fill appt on the 10th. I want the full feeling I had after getting my band.

i gained 2 pounds back. i feel your pain. i haven't had a fill yet. my first fill is 1/10/08.

I feel you pain. I told my mom, "after i'm all skinning and hot, what will my brother have to pick on me about?' my brother always makes comments about my weight. i tell him that he must have hair envy because he is bald. he says, 'yeah but i can control this.' and he grabs his stomach. family can be such pain the @ss. i know my brother picks on me because he is jeolous. i have a great husband and kids, while his wife is mentally abusive to him and his kids. this christmas, i'm going to pull him aside and tell him that i forgive him for his meanness over the years. he probably won't get it but it will make me feel better. i'll tell him that i pray for him and his family every night and hope that they find true happiness.

hsbeach Don't heat the water too hot. I love the chicken noodle. it tastes like campbell's w/o the chicken and noodle. LOL!

I had my reduction back in 1998 six months after i had my daughter. the doctor took 7.5 pounds off. i was so thrilled. i felt so much better. fast forward 9 years later, i had the lapband done on 12/3 and i have lost 20 pounds. yes, my boobs are getting smaller but after years of having back pain, etc, i am glad i had my reduction surgery. if i go down to an A, well, there is always surgery to blow them back up! LOL! again, it is your decision. it does depend on how much you need to loose in general and loose in the boobs.

I love the chocolate! It is the bomb! The chicken soup is good but I agree, it is high in sodium. The unflavored is good in mashed potatoes.

I was banded on 12/3. I had awful gas pain under my left collar bone. I had some sore/stiffness in the incision areas; but not as bad as I thought. I have had two c-sections and breast reduction. This was a walk in the park compared to them! Wow! I worked from home Wednesday and Thursday. I went into the office a little on Friday 'cause I was going crazy. I had stopped taking the morphine on Tuesday morning around 5 am. I was given peracit (sp?), filled it but never used it. I used liquid tylenol on tuesday afternoon & Wednesday. I am so glad I did this!

Thanks. This is great information. I love the unjury unflavored protein. I mixed it with my scrambled eggs. It didn't change the flavor of the eggs. I'm going to try it in mashed potatoes next.

I burp so much! I had my surgery on Monday, 12/3. Wow! I sound like I have been out drinking! LOL! My doctor said it's part of the gas from surgery and taking in air while drinking. Ugh.

Congrats! I too live in VA! I'm near the Richmond International Airport. My surgery is next week. Yikes! I have been on the liver shrinking diet. I have lost 10 pounds since 11/5/07. Yeah. I'm having my surgery at Henrico Docs/Parham with Dr. David Elliott! He's great.

Just remember that a pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat. If you are working out, you are getting muscle which will melt away the fat. Yeah! I started measuring myself. I'm on my liver shrinking diet. I have lost 10 pounds since my first consultation...six of them this week. I measured myself on 11/21/07. I will re-measure myself in two week and then every two weeks after that. The scale may not move but the inches will go away and the clothes size will get smaller. My doctor said, 'It's really not how much weight you loose. You need to have your waist under 32 inches and a lower BMI.' I have an MS Excel sheet for tracking my weight and measurements. I am on day 2 of my liver shrinking diet. i'm hanging in there....ugh. it is very hard but i have 12 days left then surgery!

What is the average recovery time for everybody? How much time has most of ya'll taken off? I have a new job. I sit on my butt at my desk. I don't want to miss too much time. Thanks so much for everyones support!

I just received my samples of choc, unflavored, and chicken noodle unjury. Who has tried these? any good? I haven't begun my CHRISTmas shopping yet. Ugh.

i have anthem. my bmi is over 40. my anthem plan coveres 100 lbs over or 35 bmi with 1 condition or 40 bmi with no condition. I had my appts on 11/5 and was approved by 11/8. my surgery is 12/3. i have my history/physical on 11/14 and pre-op testing on 11/19. i'm very excited. good luck!

I know how you feel/worry. I started a new job in Sept. I am only allowed 2 days PTO. My surgery is 12/3. I get out of the hospital 12/4. I have to be back at work on 12/5. Yikes. I should be okay after reading all the success from others on this site. My job is a desk job so I should be okay. I'm going this friday to buy some 'comfy' pants so they don't poke or touch my incisions. I will have time to walk around the building and/or treadmill in the fitness center. Pray for me! thanks.
