    soft Foods Help?

Yeah Protein shakes do get tiresome no doubt. Today I able to eat my first scrambled egg and it was so yummy. I ate very slow of course and lightly seasoned. However, about the Protein Shakes, one I've never got tired of is a powered plant based one from costco called Organic Orgain....because regardless you'll still need to get your protein in....and like the above person mentioned, try Beans, lentils, hummus, tomato basil Soup is great & add some milk (Fairfield has the most protein) for extra protein. My doctor wants me to steer away from potatoes at all cost. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  7. Hi, I am one week post op today and I have lost the 6lbs that I gained during my first few days in the hospital...I guess I still have fluids and what not that is causing this which is a little frustrating to say the least...I also have a big tummy from being swollen...I do not get the full feeling either when drinking...I can sip and sip and sip away and not feel full....Anyone else feeling this way? Not losing and not feeling full from liquids hope this changes....I also have a lot of pain....when moving any position....God bless all of you and keep me posted on your journey! Liz
  8. I agree!! It is soooo much more intense "pain-wise" than the sleeve. I feel pregnant too! Lol my goodness it feels good to have others who have gone through this too and experiencing the same symptoms as I. I hope and pray for a speedy recovery for us all. Sorry in advance too if I answered a question that wasn't for me lol I'm not too savvy on this app just yet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Yes I had the sleeve over two years ago and then converted the sleeve to the bypass. Post op six days now. Yes I had to do the two week diet prior to surgery. The first week consisted of a Protein shake for Breakfast and lunch, and for dinner, 1/4" chicken, Turkey or fish with veggies. Second week was all liquids, including Water, homemade broths, Protein shakes & tea. Tomorrow will be two weeks that I have been on liquids and it is very hard. I am so tired of protein shakes so I've literally been drinking more of the broths and teas over the shakes. I've been able to do about 1-2 shakes a day. I feel satisfied without restriction when sipping. I can finish one cup of tea or broth without any discomfort. I've finally lost the six pounds that I gained during the surgery from the carbon dioxide and all of the fluids from the IV. I have one more week to go on liquids and then I can have my first egg. Either poached, scrambled or egg whites. I can also have lowfat geek yogurt and cottage cheese during week 3. I can't wait for that. We are almost right around the same dates for our surgery . I'm happy for you! Keep in touch. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I have premier Protein and yes it does have 30grams of protein . My doctor told me to have at least 20-25 grams of protein in each shake which this one has more than enough. Total 80 grams of protein each day and 64oz of Water. I am 6 days post op and I get in about 2 1/2 shakes throughout the day, green tea, about 45oz of water and some broth. Bypass 2 days ago....home now

I feel the same exact way...getting up and finding a comfy place is difficult ...the only time it's a bit easier is when I take my pain medication (which I am just about out of) Loratab. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    I don't feel full....

Hi, I am five days post op from gastric bypass and I don't feel any restrictions either...I had the sleeve two years ago and it was the exact opposite which kinda makes me worry. After reading more and more I guess this is normal while on liquids. I was just now able to finish one cup of a Protein shake and I feel satisfied. I also gained four pounds since my surgery. I guess in time it gets better. Feeling a little frustrated though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. I had the sleeve two years ago and felt the same way....I could barely take two sips without feeling completely full....after converting the sleeve to bypass I feel I can sip much more and I don't get that full feeling....so that made me wonder if something was wrong or what not...but I guess that's okay ?
