Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since I was banded. I have lost 14.7 lbs. Pretty good since I did it these past two weeks. Got a fill again today. 5cc. I've been feeling pretty good except for the nausea and I get diahrea. :cry Not good. Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Unbelieveable. On the 22nd. Wow. I now need to move on an focus back on my work and stop dwelling on my weight,

Was banded October 23, 2007 at the outpatient surgery center off Bee Caves. That was three weeks ago. I weighed 254 lbs. I notice that my personal scale is calibrated at 10 pounds less than at True Results. At my first post op appt., I gained about half a pound, it was very discouraging. I got my first fill November 7th. It restricted me for a couple of days but now I'm hungry a lot AGAIN. My scale shows that I now weigh 236 lbs. So if I add the 10 pounds that means I lost 8 lbs since last week. Cool. I still get frustrated because of gas pains and discomfort in the port area. I understand that all this is normal. My shoes fit me loose. I wish I felt better with my knee. It hurts very badly when I walk. I see the knee surgeon on the 28th, my birthday. Yipee. I have physical therapy tomorrow. I also have a second fill scheduled tomorrow. Hope I'm not over doing it. When I went for my first post op appt., I felt very light headed after the NP gave me the first fill. She said I was over exerting, and I was dehydrated and needed additional protien. Go figure. Get some rest and drink plenty of fluids. Imagine that! I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week already. It'll be fun to visit with my family. Looking forward to it.:tired

Austin Area Bandsters Intersted in Support Group ?
VickiT replied to coltonwade's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I live in Cedar Creek a spit away from the Travis County line, but I work downtown Austin. I was banded on October 23, 2007 at the Outpatient surgery center off Bee Caves. I believe I was the second person to be banded there. I was banded by Dr. Marsden through True Results. I sure would like to be included in the support group in the Austin area. Keep me posted on specifics.:clap2: -
Thanks so much for the reply. I just like to know that what i'm going through is "normal." I appreciate what you said about listening to your band. I don't think I've given it the time. Again, thanks

I went to my post op appointment yesterday, November 7th, two weeks. I never got that "full" feeling, still hungry. I even gained a pound. What's up with that? I asked for and got my first fill yesterday 1.5 cc added to the already existing 3.0 cc that a total of 4.5 cc. Sounds like a lot. Don't know how to compare. I'm very sore at the port site, get real bad gas cramps and diahrrea. I was told I would get constipated. What's up with that? I also get dizzy and light headed and tire easily. :faint:I don't notice any difference in my appetite. Only difference is that I have to chew everything very slowly and carefully then comes the gas. I feel so yuky, I don't even like being around myself. Has anyone else had this experience? I would appreciate any feedback.:help: thanks so much.

How much weight should I expect to lose a week
VickiT replied to Beverly1010's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded Tuesday, October 23 in Austin, Texas. I'm getting hungry quickly. My doctor pretty much told me I could eat what I could handle so as long as it was thin or watery enough to go through a straw, but without the straw. I'm eating or "slurping" until full, which doesn't take very long. But I'm hungry within a few hours. I don't know if this is to be expected. I've also been a bit nauseated. Pills doctor prescribed have helped in this area. Port area very painful. I feel like I'm doing something wrong. What's been your experiences? -
I'm schedule to be banded in 6 days. I've been going to True Results and they've provided information about the band and what to expect. They just began offering the actual surgery in the town where I live. Which makes things a lot easier. I have not met the doctor yet, expect to do that the day before surgery. Is this typical? In addition to a cursory check up, stress and sleep test, I've not been asked for anything else. Is this also typical? I'm a bit nervous about the procedure, I wonder if I should be doing something else. I'm financing the procedure, they seem to just be taking my word, and have not asked for any verification. Is all of this typical? I need some reassurance. thanks:confused::help:

:cool:Thank you so much for your response. I feel better. Frankly, I like the hands off approach. Relatively speaking I'm in good health, have had surgeries in the past, so I know what to expect. I have mentally prepared for this and I'm ready. I just don't want to be told at the last minute that I failed to do something. I have the support of my family. Although I have not mentioned any of this to my co-workers. They think I'm taking vacation next week. I'll probably tell them in December. Again, thanks.

Am scheduled to be banded in 6 days. Have been going through True Results. They provided me with information about banding, they did a cursory exam, a stress and sleep test. No other tests have been ordered. I will meet the doctor the day before the surgery. I will be financing the surgery and they've taken may word at it, because they haven't verified anything. Is this typical? Don't get me wrong. They've been very nice, everyone I've talked to. I really don't know what to expect. Has anyone else had any experience with True Results? :help:
