How slow do you all eat?
Summer Rain replied to Chuckie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on reaching your goal! Summer -
I had a total hysterectomy 6 weeks after my sleeve surgery and let me tell you the sleeve surgery was nothing compared to that. I experienced very little pain with the sleeve and recovery was a breeze! Good luck to you Summer

Why Did You Choose Your Specific Type of Weight Loss Surgery?
Summer Rain replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I chose the gastric sleeve because I did not want the dumping that can come with RNY. I also wanted to eventually be able to eat all of my favorite foods, just in much smaller portions. I did not go with the band due to having to get fills and unfills and the "stuck episodes". I am very happy with my decision Summer -
Do I Listen To This Dr. Or That Dr.?
Summer Rain replied to blackonynx's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Maybe it is time to search out a new PCP if your current one is unable/unwilling to help you if you have surgery??? I had gastric sleeve done and I have been off my diabetes meds since the day of surgery. Good luck! Summer -
Anyone out there lose too much weight that they were denied surgery
Summer Rain replied to brennasmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told not to let my BMI get lower than 35 (I had comorbidities) or the insurance could deny me. Good luck! -

How often do you weigh?
Summer Rain replied to brandy31's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I weigh almost every day. I am two months out. I only record my weight once a week though. Weighing is so exciting now -- the scale is almost always going down Summer -
RJ good luck at your appointment. I hope it goes exceptionally well. You deserve all the best after everything you have been through! Summer

You will start losing again. Just keep doing what you are doing. I had a 5 day stall during week 2 and then went right back to losing. Your body is still healing.

Sleeve surgery revealed large cysts
Summer Rain posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone. I hope you all are doing well. I had surgery 11/4/14 and I had no problems with my sleeve surgery. Everything has been going great and I feel really good. Did anyone else have other medical problems uncovered due to this surgery? My surgeon told my husband after my surgery that he saw a "very large cyst in the area of my right ovary and that I should get it checked out." I got through my first week pre-op and the second week I had an appointment with my PCP. She ordered an ultrasound which showed a large 10 cm cystic lesion on/around my right ovary. They could not even see the ovary due to the cyst being so large. The following week I had an MRI which showed 2 large cysts in the adnexal/upper pelvic area. The largest cyst has a smaller cyst within it. I had an appointment with a new GYN the middle of December (my old GYN had a baby and decided to be a stay at home mom). I called them after my MRI and they moved my appointment up to this Thursday. I am very nervous as the NP that called with my test results would give me very little information. She just said that the GYN would talk to me about everything but that I would require surgery due to the size of the cysts. I asked about the chances of them being cancerous and she said again that the GYN would discuss all of this with me. Now I am nervous and am going to have to go through more surgery. I just hope it can be done this month as my deductible has been met. Any words of encouragement would be appreciated or if anyone else wants to share their experiences... Thank you for listening (reading). Summer -
3 weeks post op
Summer Rain replied to emily.paige's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a 5 day stall my second week post op. Just trust the process and follow your plan. It will pass. If you measure I bet you see that you have lost some inches even if you haven't slot anything on the scale. Sunmer -

Hi everyone I hope all the post op people are doing well. I know I am happy to be on the post-op side now! I have had a very easy time of it since surgery on 11/04/14. I hope all of you that had surgery on the 4th or around there will post your experiences here also. It would be nice to have a list of people done on that day or close to it. I am still on soft foods. I have another appointment with my surgeon's office on Friday and I hope they will let me start Stage 3 foods. I have stuck religiously to the foods on my allowed list. I have not really had any hunger. I love eating these small portions I get my Water, Protein and Vitamins in every day. I am no longer on meds for Type 2 Diabetes. Today after work I will take my one month pics and measurements. I have lost 16.8 pounds so far which I am happy with. Before surgery I never would have lost this much in a month (except the times I tried HCG but that weight always came back immediately after stopping the injections). I asked my husband last night if he thought the local pizza Hut was going bankrupt yet as we had not ordered from them in over 5 weeks. He just laughed at me lol How are the rest of you doing?

November 4, 2014 Surgery
Summer Rain replied to Summer Rain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Athena My first egg after surgery was the best egg I ever ate! This is just an incredible time in our lives. I am so happy I had this done. I was sleeved 5 weeks ago today and I am down 20 lbs! I hardly ever feel hungry and I am doing well with eating only the foods that are allowed. I hope everyone else is doing awesome. If you feel like bragging about your weight loss I would love to hear what you have lost! Summer
