My story is most like others here. I have struggled most of my adult life with my weight and have many health issues due to that. I looked into bariatric surgery the first time in the late nineties and then again in 2010. First time I chickened out, second time, I was told my insurance did not cover the surgeons fee and I would be responsible for $5000. Third time was a charm and my insurance covered it all. I am 53 and had gastric bypass on August 19th. I have no regrets. I am just starting phase 2 and things are going very well. Surgery went fine, but did have to stay 3 nights in the hospital due to low oxygen levels and low blood platelets. But am recovering very well.
