Ungrateful gift getters'

Thanks ladies you both put a smile on my face and gave me some good ideas! -
Frank Mc Court "Angela's Ashes" & "Tis'" are both good reads, based on a true story of a poor Irish/American family.

I work as a Direct Support Professional (Similiar to Nurse aid). I took ten days off from work. I wasn't able to do any lifting for several weeks, and was limited on my duties, but it was good to get back to work. I would say it depends on what you do for a living.

Too funny thanks for sharing!

PB= Productive burp or in my case barf! Boy did I suffer a bad one tonight. DH and I went out to a local steak house for supper. I knew I wouldn't be able to eat a huge steak, but ordered it, along with fries, and a schrimp cabob.(SP?) I nibbled on the schrimp, and steak and ate a spinach salad. Well I ended up in the bathroom twice at the restaurant barfing up phlegm and my supper. Needless to say my steak and supper is in the frig for tomorrow. :think

LOST is about the only thing I watch that is new. I also tune into the Waltons and Little House on The Prairie. HGTV is a cool channel to check out too.

I use the Optisource chewable vitamins available at Walgreens. I need to get me some of that Bioten before I look like Kojack!

I thought I would start this thread to give everyone inspiration and ideas for the upcoming holiday season. For me the greatest gift I ever gave was back in 1994 I was attending community college. I was a member of a small college business club. We decided to adopt needy families for the holidays. We set up an angel tree, collected gifts and a local supermarket donated food baskets. We personally delivered the gifts and baskets to the needy families. Words cannot describe the emotions that escaped me that day. They will last a lifetime. Now it's your turn to share.....

DH and I are owned by a red and white AKC registered Basset Hound named Ethan James. I also have a Black Labrador named Harley who lives in Michigan on my parent's acreage. (He didn't like the city life here.) Both boys are considered my sons and are spoiled as often as possible. They have both me adjust to the many changes in my life in the past 3 years. Sometimes they are a better support system than my human family and friends.

My DH is a kidney transplant recipient. He takes Prednisone and has suffered several side effects including weight gain. He also found out it can cause early stage cataracts. I am thank ful that this drug keeps him alive everyday, but 36 is too young for cataracts. He is having his cataracts removed in January.

Awe right here is my letter! LOL! Santa Clause North Pole, Earth Dear Santa, I have been a good girl. It really wasn't my fault what happened at Debbie's Office party. It was Tracy who spiked the punch with too much slow gin fizz. I can't help it if I drank 7 glasses. It was so good---smelled and tasted just like chocolate Cookies baking. I thought it was funny when I put burt's sweater on my head and danced the moon dance on the couch while singing `Jingle Bell Rock'. I didn't mean to break Debbie's DVD player and don't know why Debbie would accuse me of burglary. I don't remember calling Doug's wife a sexy cow---even though she looked like one with red eye shadow and blue lipstick! And when I threw up on Patty's husband's finger, it was only because I ate too much of that cheese. After all that fun, I admit I was a little tired. So I fell asleep on my way home and drove my PT Cruiser through my neighbor's roof. I don't think that was any reason for my neighbor to call me a funny dog and have me arrested for assault & battery! So, Santa...here I sit in my jail cell on Christmas Eve, all sad and mean. And I'm really not to blame for any of this flirty stuff. Please bring me what I want the most---bail money! Sincerely and love yours, Pam (Really a nice girl!) P.S. It's only 21 bucks!</B>

Suicidal thoughts with obesity?
maudeispam replied to princess_n_thep's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks Jenna for sharing about your mom. I know exactly how your mom felt. I was and still am the "jolly" life of the party, class clown girl. But inside my heart was always aching. Like the old song by Smokey Robinson "Tears of a clown" oh boy how I relate to that one. But things are progressing and life is good. I found the man of my dreams, happily married and discovering what life really means. -
Check this out! A friend just sent it to me. http://www.jacquielawson.com/viewcard.asp?code=0212320003

Almost three days out and needing advice
maudeispam replied to Cheri's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Your shoulder pain will eventually pass. I was miserable for about 3 days after my surgery. I too wanted to over do it. But rest, get plenty to drink, and don't worry about weight gain. You just had major surgery and this is the healing process. Check with your doc for pain meds if the pain is too much. A heating pad helps with the shoulder pain. Also do a search of old threads on here, there is lots of useful info. Best of luck! -
It is so cold here! Tonight it is suppose to get down to around -20 temp, that is not including the wind chill. BURR! We have about 12 inches of snow on the ground and 2 inches of ice under that. There is a lovely layer of ice of about everything in site. I am ready for spring! But this weekend we are expecting a heat wave. In the 30's for high temps. I can't wait!
