My parents have a deer processing business. They swear by the High Mountain Brand of jerky seasoning. It is available at Cabelas and other retailers. I like the hickory flavor.

Get yourself a food processor and blend (puree) anything within reason your heart desires. My DH thought I was insane when I was in the mushie stage. I pureed cheeseburgers, pizza, spaghetti and everything I served him for dinner or lunch. Variety is the key to success, so don't limit yourself, just use your imagination. Best of luck!

I am on 1/2 tsp of Prozac daily to help curb the cravings for that evil stuff we call chocolate. It seems to help, and I am less moody, my dh appreciatecs that. I think the doc will have to up the dose a bit to help even better though. I see him next month. Oh BTW it is available in a liquid form, it tastes horrible, but easier than crushing a pill.

I had to go to the ER one night for severe constipation and a possible bowel obstruction. My doc had me take a ducolax once a day at bed time, followed by a dose of milk oh mag. (For 5 days). Things started flowing again within 24 hours. He also suggested upping my benefiber to twice daily and getting more of my fluids in. No problems to report since then. Best of luck!

Please Help Nurse Needed Look at Picts
maudeispam replied to YeeHaw's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My incisions were in the same condition as yours. I used a loofa and lightly scrubbed them with Dial antibiotic soap, rinsed throughly, dried throughly and applied an antibiotic cream and kept them covered with bandages. I changed the bandages twice daily. Now you can barely notice my scars. But as everyone else said check with your doc first. Best of luck! -
Has my secret pal got their gift yet? You should have by now. A Thank you would be appreciated.

Just bumping this one up for newbies!

My doc recommended Benefiber. I used it for quite some time, but still had problems. Then a friend suggested ground flax seed. I add it to about everything I eat, cereal, meats, everything. It seems to work well and it helps lower cholesterol and is heart healthy.

Good Thread I love it! I wanted to be a singer like Olivia Newton John. I used to sing out in the yard all the time. Luckily we lived out in the country. I remember friends would come over and all I ever wanted to do was play singing. I still enjoy singing, but never got a career out of it...maybe some day! LOL!

Did anyone else catch Wynonna Judd on Larry King live yesterday? I watched a repeat this morning and it was a good show. She talked about her battle with the bulge and her food addiction. She also discussed in recent trip to rehab for food addiction. It was refreshing to see someone of her status discuss their weight issues. If you get a chance to watch it, do so...it was inspiring.

I use Country Crock Light Spread. Tastes just like the regular, but a lot better for you! -
I work the over night shift at work. So I normally eat breakfast at work and find I am not tight. I work 11pm to 9am. Then I usually sleep from 10:30am till 3-4pm. Then have dinner with DH around 5-6pm. Sometimes I am tight when I first get up, so we have a little later supper so I can actually eat. It must be the sleeping and laying down that makes people tight. Best of luck to you!

DH & I just married in 2004. I am 33 and he is 36. We both want children and are patiently waiting for my weight to come off to really start trying! Best of luck to you.

I use Optisource chewable vitamins. They are specially formulated for WLS patients. They are orange flavored and are available at Walgreens. No need to supplement with calcium, they have everything you need. I also take a biotin and b-12 daily for extra support. Biotin is great for your hair and nails, and b-12 boosts your metabolism. Best of luck!

Have you tried refinancing it through a local bank or credit union? My hubby refinanced his truck and streched the payments out a couple more years, thus making the monthly payment smaller. Best of luck.

Lapband vs Other choices, Why did you go this way?
maudeispam replied to wavydaby's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
A. Less invasive than other techniques. B. Quicker recovery time. C. Cost less. D. More natural progressive weight loss than other WLS. E. Available in my home town, where as other WLS I had to travel 60+ miles one way. F. No internal organ cutting, rerouting or such. G. No huge nasty scars. 3inch is better than some WLS scars! H. LBT encouraged my decision with the before & after photos. I. Safer for future pregnancies. J. ADJUSTABLE! K. I am sure there are a ton of more reasons why I choose this road, but my mind is blank now. Best of luck with whatever choice you make. It is well worth the paperwork, hassle, testing, and weight :hat: !
