I need to see my surgeon in July for my 3 month check up. Last time I saw him, he was pleased with my weightloss and didn't do a fill. I have reached a plateau. I know I need a fill. However, we are going to Michigan July 7-17th. I don't want to be to too tight and so far from home. What would you do in my shoes? I dont have a problem waiting till I get back from the trip and I am pretty sure I can see him before hand if needed. Just give me your opinions. Thanks.

What Kind of Music Do You Love? I'm a R&B Hip Hop gal myself
maudeispam replied to BeacheeGirl's topic in The Lounge
I love country and classic rock & roll (60 -90's). I have over 300 cds from all genres. Gotta have the tunes! -
It took me quite awhile to feel like myself once again. I took ten days off from work as a Direct Support Professional (similiar to a nurse aid). I was still tender and sore even after returning to work. I slept in my hubby's recliner for almost a month, because I couldn't stand to lay flat. I also used a heating pad for the pain and walked around to get the gas out. Best of luck to you.

July 05 Bandsters 1 year Bandiversary Coming
maudeispam replied to Teresita's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am doing pretty good. I am actually pretty pleased with my band. At first I had some reservations and at times it is frustrating, but all in all I am happy. I try hard to make my band work, but at times I give in to temptation, I am only human. I was banded July 29 2005 by Dr. Andrew Reynolds in Mitchell, SD. I can eat about anything and everything, except for bread, buns, pizza, fast food,(burgers & fries) and chicken. I can eat about a cup at a time. I try to exercise as often as possible, but I keep busy cleaning and doing projects around the house. I drive my DH bonkers, I am always on the go. I have 8ccs in a VG band. -
Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY

Here is a pic taken one day prior to my surgery (July 28, 2005) and a pic taken Memorial Day Weekend (2006). -
My Friend Leonard by James Frey. It's a good read. I read his first book A Million Little Pieces as well. Even with all the debate whether he lied, they are both worth reading.

Boy, 9, turns in $100 bill he finds at school coreAdsCreate('wnsz_20', 'loc', '100'); LAKEVIEW, Mich. -- Jared Nadeau knew what he had to do after finding a crinkled $100 bill on the ground at school. He turned in the money. "I didn't want to just take it and run away with it," the 9-year-old said. "I knew it was somebody's." The $100 bill belonged to Genean Bolen, 31, of Lakeview. She had lost it while at Lakeview Middle School to watch her daughter play in a band concert, The Daily News of Greenville reported Monday. After the show, Bolen went to buy gasoline for her car but discovered that the money had fallen out of a pocket. She quickly drove back to the school, where she learned that Jared had turned in the cash. She gave a $20 reward to the boy, whose grandmother later matched it with another $20. "I don't think there are a lot of people out there that would do what he did," Bolen said. ___ Information from: The Daily News, http://www.thedailynews.cc/ How many kids do you know these days that would do the same thing? I just had to share this story!

My lap band surgeon recently prescribed Zoloft (1ml) once a day for me. To help curve my crazy "sweet tooth". It is amazing! I ate a bowl of healthy cereal with skim milk at 9am this morning, drank 2 bottled waters and am still satisfied! The temptation of the sweets are available, but it is like I don't want them and they sound gross...like liver! This is coming from a person who would normally kill for chocolate. I was taking Prozac prior to the Zoloft and I actually craved the sweets! If you are having trouble with the sweets, check into Zoloft.

It was about 6 months out for me. I took Biotin along with my regular multivitamin. I lost hair for about 6 weeks, but all is good now. (My hair is healthier now!)

Mine is pretty much in the same place. No problems thus far!

I am down 46 and half pounds since being banded July 29, 2005. I just had an appointment with my surgeon on Friday (May 12) and I have lost about a pound a week since last seeing him in March. I will be honest I don't exercise and don't always make the best food choices. But I am happy with what I have lost so far. I am down two pant sizes! I keep active around the house, cleaning, mowing the grass, walking the dog, and everyday chores, plus work 10 hours a night. I plan to start walking again on a regular basis, if our weather ever straightens out!

What Foods did you have to give up?
maudeispam replied to BakoGal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Breads, Buns, French Fries and most fast food, (which is a good thing), chicken, anything really dry or doughy. No more Krispy Kremes here! Mostly it is trial and error for me. Somedays I can eat something and then the very next day it's on my no way list. -
Here is a link to a website with pics of patients who have had (panniculectomy) apron removal. I am considering it myself if my insurance will pay for it. I get a lot of sores and boils down there and my surgeon said the skin rubbing can cause infections. http://www.plasticsurgery4u.com/procedure_folder/abdominoplasty7.html

The biggest reason why I'm glad I got a band rather than RNY
maudeispam replied to vluckey's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have several reasons for choosing the Lap band over RNY or any other surgery. 1. I didn't want stinky poo like everyone I know who has had RNY or other weightloss surgeries. 2. I wanted a tool, not a quick fix. 3. Lap Band is safer! 4. It can be adjusted for my lifestyle (babies), weight gain etc. 5. Was available here in town, I wouldnt have to travel far for follow ups. -
Memorial Day Weekend we are going camping with some friends and family about 45minutes from our home. In early July we are traveling almost 900 miles to visit my folks, family & friends in Central lower Michigan. Plus I imagine we will take several other road trips amd camping trips through out the Summer. Plus work, work, work at our careers and at home!

This our little "boy" Ethan. He will be two on May 22. He is a AKC registered Basset Hound. But he believes he is a human little boy!
