    August Sleevers Check In

I got off very lucky I'm just a revision and lost about half my weight. I just have to go liquid day before. I had to with my first surgery, it was excruciating first couple days then now was good. I usually get anastesia issues so that is my biggest fear.

    Is surgical reversal "medically" necessary?

the individual has failed to achieve adequate weight loss, which is defined as failure to lose at least 50% of excess body weight That section in itself would say that you could revise to another procedure
  3. Good thread! I never thought about ear plugs or an eye mask
  4. Just thought it was obvious ? You are so passive aggressive.
  5. @@2muchfun, why are you being so aggressive and rude to the new person that joins the conversation. I do believe the topic if the thread is "why did you convert from lap band to sleeve?" Not let's see how much we can carry the flag for allergen. What is your deal man ?! You bash anyone who jumps into the conversation. A conversation you have no business in as it is not about which is better but why you Switched. Band support threads exist, go there and carry your flag, but please stop.
  6. So back to the topic..... Why did you choose to revise to sleeve ? Have a nice evening everyone.
  7. It was never my intention to argue. I believed I was in a thread that was discussing why I was switching. I like others had a belief that lap band would be the be all and end all for me. I merely was expressing my opinions, and experience with the band. Anythime we mess with the basic design of our bodied their can be problems. Weight loss is not about he surgery, for most of us it 90% mental and the wls surgery helped me believe I could do it again. My apologies.
  8. Lap band or sleeve? Why did you get revision to sleeve? I do believe that is the heading of this thread. Why would you be trolling in here ? It is a discussion about "why people converted to a sleeve". Now who is not being a nice boy? I'm not in a bandster support thread.

    Night cough

I had similar issues and recently had GI series discovering there are issues with band and esophagus. The band had created restriction to the point it dilated it. I am revising to a sleeve and they will make any repairs to the esophagus at that time.

    August Sleevers Check In

Good luck to you all! I have about 3 weeks, I obsess, read, and watch YouTube way too much. Ready to get r done.
  11. I merely like several others are pointing out what I am going through. There seems to be a bit of a trend that others are going through as well. I agree that many would not have had wls without it as I was one of them. However. Should we be reluctant to say that something may be wrong ?? Your emotional attatchment to an inanimate object is quite noble. This was merely a discussion until you went on the offensive. If I have had problems and others have to they should be allowed to speak about it. 3 of 100 doesn't equal your proclaimed 15% it's actually 15, which again is far to high for me. While you can google to your hearts content, the dr's still advertise they do the lap band, however as a previous poster stated, they usually steer the patients away. Is anyone allowed to have a view different from yours? Or is that to threatening to you?
  12. Your arrogance is overwhelming. You take others as expressing their opinions as an attack??? Yet you tear into anyone that dare defile your beloved band! I would love more than anything to not need a new surgery. I didn't even look at statistics on the band until I started having problems. I eat extremely well, and can assure you. Non- compliance is not the issue. My info comes straight from my dr. " the band should be used as a temporary, or start off to weight loss, it should never be thought as permanent. The long term affects of restriction damage the esophagus.
  13. And your statistics are from what? You demand footnotes from everyone yet you bark random "facts"
  14. Bariatric Legend ? How does someone proclaim themselves such??
  15. It's not bitter. It's a statement of facts, and experiences. Perhaps you are used to the censorship that surrounds our liberal media and think all should be muzzled. Again 10-15% failure is not very good Which is actually higher if you include surgeries to fix problems and they kept the band. Either way it usually comes out.
  16. Perhaps you should read the entire thread before you make accusations against me.
  17. Throw out any study that does not prove your thesis??
  18. I have not yet seen any of your studies. Anything that needs additional surgery or removal constitutes failure. I have a band and was once in a rose colored world. The rate of additional surgeries to correct "issues" is in my opinion unacceptable. In ca the lap band has virtually disappeared. You seem very angry, no one is insulting your choice, but however expressing their experiences and feelings about the band.
  19. We will see how he feels in a few years. The fallacy that the band last forever will soon become his own nightmare. We post our opinions so others can make up their mind based on that. No one needs to be in attack mode. If defending the homor makes you feel better, go ahead, but so far you have not stated any facts as you are so barking for from others.

I use isopure, with milk. Stick with vanilla The rest are funky
  22. My systems came only recently, long after the damage has been done. The dilating has been going on for a while and apparently I had adapted. It wasn't until it got to it worst that it presented itself and I needed to go to the dr. That is when the upper GI was done. My point you may be doing irreparable damage and not know it until it is too late.
