Game: What Color is Oprah Today?

I think I heard Oprah once say of herself that when she is with people who have an accent she adopts it from them. I think that is because she is a true listener, and she has proved to be an excelent actress. I don't think that her verbal inflections of any kind and anything else than hear art of fitting in to her situation. A few years ago her them song was "I'm every woman". I'm sure if she was visiting me up in Canada she would be saying "eh!" in no time. She's a smart gal, cut her some slack. It's all good.

    Wow, I'm banded =)

Vikki, Someone told me that if you get something stuck you can sip pineapple juice and it will help break it down. So now I keep a couple of small cans around just in case. I haven't needed it yet but I'm still on liquid/mushies.

    Wow, I'm banded =)

Yep, same day. I'm not sure it that's good for me yet. Probably will be. Hopefully we can meet. Most of my weight I lost on the pre-op. It's real slow now. But that is the way it should be. I just have to get past the head hunger. Wow, I never realized how much I ate mindlessly. I work at home with way too much access to food. Yikes, I need a new hobby....

    Wow, I'm banded =)

At night I hold a pillow on my stomach when I turn over and also to prop it up when I lay on my side. I tried a hot water bottle and it worked but I didn't like the weight of it. I don't know about the Nov 07 group. Fill me in please. let's keep in touch. We have the same goal. 150. I did see your mom. I also saw another lady a bit later and asked if she was Lizzie but she was there for a consultation. I got to talk to her for a while but with the three of us so excited about getting the band I missed her name. I hope she goes ahead. TTFN, Linda

    Wow, I'm banded =)

Yes, that was us. We got there at 10. I did remember that you had earlier posted that you were being banded Nov 2 and I mentioned it to my sister. So, how are you doing? How are you healing? I am feeling very well and the scars are so small I cannot believe it. There is no way they are ever going to be noticable later. I am quite impressed by the whole experience. I hope you are doing great. Linda

    Liquid Tylenol?

I have never heard of rapid blast. But I will look for it too. Thanks.

    Liquid Tylenol?

You find in in the childrens section. Ask the pharmacist to recalculate the amount for an adult. I did that and it came out to 6 teaspoons for me. I have never been able to face the amount of sweet syrup so I chewed up the fast acting Tylenol and washed them down with a little warm water. I am not recomending either, though, check with the Dr.

    Wow, I'm banded =)

Hey Lizzi, I was banded on the same day at the TLBC clinic, along with my sister and daughter. We are all doing fine. We were later in the day though. We found Dr. Yau to be great. He sure does good work. Looking forward to watching your progress too.
  12. Hi Munchkin, I feel your frustration. My husband has been waffeling between nonsupportive and sort of supportive. You need to find someone to cheer you on. Don't hold it against him. I wonder if there is more going on with him. I know my husband, and I feel that his issue is fear. It's scarey in a lot of ways for the spouse. Surgery, recovery, all the time it takes to go thru all the stages of this journey. He knows his wife is going to change and will she change for the better or worse. Is he going to get left behind when he finds himself with a person he may not recognise? Also, getting on your case about what you are eating might be his weird way of being supportive. He may be worried that if you don't follow the doctors advice something could go wrong. You mentioned you were "cheating" with your diet so he must see it too. That may be a worry to him. You are doing a good thing for yourself. So keep up the good work. PS. Stay away from the fruit, it has too much sugar. Try your best to stick to your diet for yourself so you can go thru your surgery in the best shape you can. Your liver will love you. This is a difficult time on a difficult diet, but you can do it.
  13. Lizzy o7. We are going to be banded on the same day. Same Dr, Yau. We are also very close in weight and have the same goal. How's the diet going? Do you live in TO? I'm in Winnipeg. Going to stay for 5 days to make sure I can fly home in fair shape. I'm anxious but keeping it together.
  14. My sister, my daughter and I are all getting banded on NOV 2. We are on the diet and looking forward to it all. This is a great site for information. I have learned a lot.
