My name is Jamie, I'm 32 years old and currently a nursing student. I have 2 children ages 13 and 7 and a wonderfully supportive boyfriend of 2 years. I started my WLS journey about 5 years ago when my PCP suggested I look into it. At that time I wasn't ready to make such a drastic decision, and my husband at the time was not very supportive in my weight loss efforts.
I struggled with losing weight for another few years before I made the decision in April 2014 to have a consultation with the bariatric group here in upstate NY. After one appointment, I was absolutely certain this is what I wanted.
I was sleeved on 7/21/14 by Paul Singh, MD and while my initial recovery period was a lot harder than I expected it to be, I'm very happy with my progress so far.
