  1. I have to ask because I NEVER EVER get rashes. Has anyone gotten a rash under that "flap" of belly fat. I wieghed 257 and currently weigh 220 so I haven't lost ALOT but I now get this re-occuring rash under my flap of fat. What the HELL is that. It 's not like a regular rash..no bumps or anything, it itches and it's almost like a diaper rash. When I use Gold bond powder after a couple of days it dries up. I am a very clean person ( I shower morning and evening) and I can't figure it out. When I went to the doctor the rash had dried out so he didn't really see anything except for a dark bruise looking thing. What is it and why do I have it???? It reminded me of when I saw severly obese people on Discovery health channel that hadn't lifted their folds to wash. I assumed they had some kind of fungus. Help!!!!!! Is this normal???:tt1::thumbup::confused::sad::wink_smile::mad::thumbup::confused::confused2::confused2:

    Restriction

Why are you back on liquids or soft foods? This means that you are too tight. You should be able to eat smaller portions of solids. Please mention that to your doctor. We shouldn't be on liquids for the rest of our banded lives.
  3. That happens to me also! Because my period comes every month - but anytime that it choses to, that's when I know it's coming. I too lose weight around that time- but the craving for the sweets are unbearable! So, in the beginning I'll lose three lbs and by the time my period is over I would have gained back 1.5. Oh well.

    Sliming?

Yes that is sliming! Food is getting stuck in the mid esophagus around your chest area. It never reaches your pouch -which is why it's "stuck". It's very uncomfortable, all you want is for it to come out or go down!
  5. What do you mean that you've ONLY lost 40lbs??? That is alot of weight you've lost. You have to work on just saying Thank you! That's your first step. Compliments can be a little embarassing, especially when it's given toward our weight! I had to learn to just say thank you and try and see what others saw. Whenever you feel like the compliment shouldn't be given to you, think about those size 16 pants and smile! Think about how those 22's are TOO DAMN BIG!!!! and smile again!!! Good Luck- you WILL be happy, even before you get to goal. We all go through this, you are not alone!

How to overcome soda pop addiction?

...by the way, I went cold turkey, just like I did with cigarettes. It wasn't easy. I just did it. I got through the 13 year cigarette addiction with ALTOIDS and I got through the soda addiction with will power! Best of luck t o you!!!

How to overcome soda pop addiction?

Oh my goodness! I was a heavy soda drinker myself (Pepsi was my drug of choice) - but I would get eye twitches! I always thought it was my nerves, but since reading your thread, I just realized I've only had a twitch once since quitting soda over a year ago (that time I was worrying about buying a new car). Wow! The things we learn from this LBT.
  8. You'll be in 2erville in a blink of an eye, and just when you realize how fast you got there- you'll be in Onederland!

    Finally, the Oneder of Onederland!

My doc told me that it should take around 2years to reach goal. I was told 50% of excess weight should have been lost within the first year- so you're right on target! oh yeah...WELCOME TO ONEDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I like chicken and broccoli or stir fry chicken w/veggies.

    Is my band too tight?

Yes, you are too tight! If you were comfortable @ 4cc's maybe you should ask him to remove the .25cc's. Good Luck!

    drinking???

I was told wine was fine. Maybe because you hadn't had a drink in awhile, it was your body's reaction to the alcohol.

    What to tell work?

A medical procedure sounds good to me-IF you have to say anything at all. If you have PTO days then why say anything? Funny thing is, even HR doesn't have to know! Paid time off is Paid time off!
  18. I disagree COMPLETELY! It was not for the boss to say anything at all, his comment WAS unprofessional. It's apparent that it wasn't an emergency or she wouldn't be sitting in the meeting. You do sound insensitive and she didn't have to share anything with anyone. It is not for the boss to share any details big or small with any of her co-workers. Whether elective or not, it should have been left up to loser 4 life to make a follow up comment if she felt the need to. I'm not trying to be combative but when a person says its elective surgery, usually people think weight loss surgery or some kind of plastic surgery, which is what I think loser 4 life was trying to avoid speculation on.

    Excess Skin - Abdominal Apron

lorrie ottawa, It depends on your insurance. If your insurance paid for your lap band then there is a great possibility that they will cover your tummy tuck!

Is Your Band Filled To Capacity?

Mydoc told me that my 4cc band can actually hold 5cc's.
  22. There is a section on this site for slipped bands. I've read of unfills for a couple of weeks to see if the band will reposition itself before a complete removal. I would contact a different office and ask for advice. I'm so sorry your experience with the band (and doctor) has not been as productive as you wanted it to be. Also, please bear in mind, some people are slow losers. If you get to your sweet spot- you may lose a little more, a little faster. It took me 9 fills to get there and I currently have 3.8cc's in a 4cc band. I am a slow loser (in my opinion) I was banded in 10/07 and have lost 70lbs. I am ok with that. I am 70lbs less than I was a year ago! The weight is coming off, just not as fast as some other people. As for your surgeons bedside manner- if you are not comfortable, then you should find a new doc! BTW- what was the end result with your dillema? I see you originally posted on 9/3/08. Good luck to you-may all work out well!

    anyone with oxford pos?

I'm dying to know the answer to your question myself!!! Like you, I also have Oxford and I am wondering the same thing. The approval for Lap Band was soooooo easy I'm hoping approval for TT or pani and a breast reduction/lift will be just as easy! I called Oxford about 3mo ago and asked what was required before these things were done. I was told just the doctor's recommendation and a medical reason. Sounds pretty easy. I hope the rep at Oxford was right! I'm wondering when is the right time? Although I am heavier (scale wise) than I orginally wanted to be, I like the way I look in my clothes. My husband, mother, family and friends all say I look good! I just need for this daggone extra skin to be gone. I'm so tired of tucking it in my pants and Spanx! I'll be anxiously checking for replies on this! Thanks for posting. WOW.. I just realized we were both banded at Lenox Hill by partners. I was banded by Dr. Shah- Dr. Roslin's partner! Don't you just love the new office!
