so how much did you lose from surgery to your first appointment with him after being banded? so now do they think you will lose before your first fill which is when?
-
this erosion thing has me scared, no way in knowing if it happened or not? I had my surgery 2 weeks ago; i still have a lot of pain and very difficult to get up out of a car; i know that my doctor said he stitched to the stomach and those are stomach muscles you are trying to use and is painful; but there are times i get a burning sensation in there; i am to go back to work on thursday and worried as it does hurt to get up and down and still not sleeping in a bed.
-
so how do we get a ticker and then how do we get it on here? i feel better somewhat today; still very sore to get up out of a chair or car; i have been drinking my smoothie king protein drink 45 grams of protein per shake, so good too; had eggs for lunch, more protein and now sugar free pudding, it's sooooo good; yeah i sucked on a hersey kiss, now that's mighty good; did you all lose weight even after adding soft foods and regular food then before the first fill???????????????

Ok, sounds like there is talk on people being hungry? Well i had my band put in 2 weeks ago and started starving this week and have been eating different things as cottage cheese and oatmeal is not fillin gme up. However I wonder do people gain weight back before the first fill? I want something sweet? I'm even hungry for a salad a piece of meat or something; please what can we have? I also have had some burning sensations inside, did anyone else have that? I get these weird pains sometimes all over and then a burning sensation, what is that? Protein Drink: Go to smoothie King and get the gladiator with strawberries/banannas or raspberries and bananas---47 grams of protein and it's outstanding Also: Labrada, many smoothie kings sell them--chocolate drink in the fridge and it has like 35 grams of protein and tastes like chocolate milk;

I was just banded 2 weeks ago and i am starving and eating as i can; soft foods, well brownies to me is soft???????? i lost 15 lbs initially but when you can eat normal again you are bound to gain right? i mean you are eating normal vs soup broth???? I hope when banded it restricts how much; I have 4 girls in my office who have been banded over 2 years; and they eat everything including chocolate and sweets, they just can't eat a whole candy bar in one sitting; -
Well I was banded 1/16 and lost 15 lbs but i am 2 weeks into other foods and i feel like i am gaining; someone told me it is very common to gain weight until the fill? I'm starving and eating normal so why wouldn't you gain? Is this correct
-
Did you ever find out? I was banded 2 weeks ago and my port fills like it stings or burns? is this normal

Dr. Jay will not let you take a pill bigger than your pink nail, metformin is much bigger than that; we take flintstone chewables, gas x chewables; -

Marypetunia i feel bloated too, this is one week after surgery for me today; i still have a swollen feeling; we are on clear liquid diet the week before; from surgery date for 2 weeks suppose to be clear liquid and cream soups and milkshakes and V8; well i am sick of creamed soups; i am ready for some cottage cheese, meat, eggs something; but yes the idea is to have the stomach not so swollen when you begin to eat; the doctor said that the gas can takeup to 3 weeks; i am taking 6 gas x a day; right after meals except dinner i do at bedtime; my stitch areas don't hurt, just straight down my stomach where i presume it is still swollen; I am totally sick of protein drinnks; My husband too hairagain eats popcorn and that is a tough smell to take; we have gone to 3 movies since my surgery last monday and that popcorn smell oh my.............. i just take my gatorade but it's a killer; or our theatre serves the best pretzels with cheese sauce, what i would give......................... -

Congrats 12 lbs is great i feel bloated and gaining with all these soups and things; were you on the first week of clear liquids our 2 weeks after surgery is creamed soups----potato, broccoli cheese, anything with some protein helps; i found chilis, lamadeleine, black eye pea all have good soups to work around; just chew those potatoes up but trust me, you get real sick of soup too. -

Yes metformin does come in liquid, it might even be generic but it does; many of us are on it as we can't take those big pills anymore -

go to google and put in fitness essentials in your area and see what they say, where do you live? I am in texas. Don't make jello, go to sams and get the sugar free all ready made up in different flavors, much easier; i know a ton of gastric bypass people that get to have nuts too; i somewhat took that with lapband you could basically eat anything, it's just a lot less????????????? -

thank you I am 7 days out today and drinking my labrada Protein shake (if you haven't tried it, it's excellent, tastes like chocolate milk, fitness essentials carries it). I do believe 2 weeks on this liquid diet is a little intense. I have talked to many many people who diddn't even do the liquid diet pre surgery and only 2 days after surgery; I figured it all out yet. Also i was told it isn't to lose weight aftger surger, many gain some as it's Soup broths that are high in sodium, foods high in sugar. Then you go back to normal foods until the first fill. That the true weight loss is after the first fill and the many fills from there. I finally slept good last night on the couch straight flat. Still waking up and still sore but feel better. I could not go back to work, I drive 25 miles from my office and that would scare me, the reaction time to the pedals. I think it's interesting, lists of food i read were no Peanut Butter, no popcorn, no nuts etc and I read about all these people having that. One week out -

the gas you are having is very normal after this surgery; in fact my doctor is having me tax gas-x at each meal and bedtime and it relieved a lot of pressure and walking; do not be surprised if you are exhausted going back; i would say do 1/2 day at a time for maybe a week and build up -
Just 1/19/06 banded and feelin fine!!!
Jamoorse replied to hairagain's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Protein shakes (look for labrada at fitness essentials, chocolate); smoothie king has a great one--gladiator with strawberries and bananas--45 grams of protein; milk shakes, soups---i go to quiznos or black eye pea or chilis and get broccoli cheese soups, potato soup (crushed those potatoes down); key is how long did doctor want you on liquid diet after surgery? -

I just had my banding done 1 week ago; on liquids for 2 weeks, but starving, sick of soups, isn't there more to life than soups for 2 weeks; i also have a very sore stomach, not where the stitches are but right down the middle of the stomach; is this just swollen stomach or is something wrong? I find it hard to turn while sleeping and forget the bed to sleep in, it's the couch for awhile, then the recliner; is somethin wrong with my band?????; whoever thought they could go back to work in 3 to 5 days forget it;
