After which fill did YOU really start losing!
Cenan replied to AppleSmith1226's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was banded 8-21-07 and immediately lost 23 lbs. The doctor didn't give me any fills because he said my "reactions" were similar to someone who had been filled (my reactions were throwing up after eating solid foods). I actually went for esophogeal (?) and throat testing. I also had a "light GI series ??" - and everything was fine. I've continued to drink my meals basically because it's the only comfortable way to go. As far as eating solids, sometimes I feel restricted, but the feeling goes away a couple of minutes later and I can eat again (and am still hungry!) OR, I get this kind of discomfort/burning feeling and I assume I've overeaten. Sometimes I have to throw it up (I have to activate that action), or if I wait about 10 minutes, I'm hungry again and CAN get more down! Also, I've regained all of the weight I originally lost. Does this sound like something a fill would correct? Thanks. -
Hi - I was banded 8/21/07 - and was okay until about 2-3 weeks ago when I though maybe I wasn't getting enuf protein in. Now I make sure 60 gms of protein goes in without fail -I use the Dr. Atkins Advantix shakes - each has 15 gms of protein - so 4 shakes/day should do it - but if that's too much - take one shake and thrown in one scoop of protein powder - that's an additional 15 or so gms. of protein/shake - so you only have to take two shakes/day + whatever else you "eat". It has made ALL of the difference in the world for me - I have the energy now that I was hoping I would have when I lost all of the weight. Don't know if this will help - but it sure made a difference for me. Good luck.

I Am So Weak I Feel Like My Blood Was Drained Help/
Cenan replied to jamietindall19's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi - I was banded 8/21/07 - it wasn't until about the last three weeks or so that I felt completely drained of energy when my husban suggested that maybe I wasn't getting enuf protein/vits in - which is really hard to configure when you're eating "real" food. So..... - I switched to shakes for the past week or so - the Advantix (Dr. Atkins) shake, plus a scoop of protein powder + a glass of skim milk (that's about 38 gms of protein) - then later in the day, another shake with tofu, protein powder + some milk again - by the end of the day, I make sure IU get the 60 gms in. In addition, I take this stuff (which I took before the surgery) called "Greens" which has all the good stuff veggies have + plus I found some powder which has all the good stuff fruit has - so I throw a scoop of each of those into one or both of the shakes. I'm telling you - I feel like superwoman now! Maybe that will help. Good Luck.
