Has Anyone Else Gone Through This Problem of Skin Hanging?
Brian Green replied to tmartin1023's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
He said he rubs in the preparation h im sure really good then applies the vicks vapor rub then wraps in plastic wrap, he said he started with the large rolls from Walmart of wrap then found it was cheaper to go to lowes or home depot and get the moving plastic wrap he said it covers more area and is more comfortable. then he goes to bed and removes it all before showering, i would imagine though if you are home a lot that you could do this during the day as well, i haven't got that far in my surgery yet but i will be trying it down the road. -
when did your weight loss kick into high gear?
Brian Green replied to HYCIERRA's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Doctor told me it takes about 2 weeks for the changes to kick in I was disappointed last week after being 9 days out at support group to have only lost 1 lb, doctor and nurse both said this was normal and this surgery is not an over night weight loss treatment. so patients will have to prevail here -
Has Anyone Else Gone Through This Problem of Skin Hanging?
Brian Green replied to tmartin1023's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
During my last Support Group with the surgeon this question of sagging skin came up a patient who is 3 months out stood up and told us his method, this may sound strange but he showed us the results, he uses Preparation H as well as Vicks Vapor Rub both are generic he rubs the preparation h on first then vicks vapor rub then wraps the area with plastic wrap he then sleeps in this and in the morning removes it and showers and doesn't do it again until that night before bedtime. His results were amazing and the doctor even said he had heard of that technique before the patient found the recipe for this type of skin tightening online. just thought this may help a few post op peeps out there -
Gastric Bypass Cook Books
Brian Green replied to Brian Green's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Eggface as well as Foodie have great recipes I know foodie has a recipe book out for Breakfast, but I really like Eggface since she is feeding a family with her recipes. and even though my surgery was August the 5th we must plan for the future and living this knew life style, I don't consider a bariatric cook an Oxymoron since they do not contradict each other. just saying. -
Any recommendations on a good cook book with easy and simple ideas

Surgery was on the 5th and all has been going well pain was only for 2 days and that was gone, I'm now on my 3 week 3 day full liquid which allows cottage cheese, cream Soup, yogurt, applesauce. My journey began with a slipped lap band and that needed to be removed due to overfill and deflate did not correct the pouches the slip created. My surgery wait time was only 2 months and my insurance approved the revision in about 3 days. So now my new journey has begun no weight loss yet, doctor said this is normal and about 2 weeks out I will begin to lose or notice the loss of weight. Strange thing for me and unexpected is I am not hungry I haven't felt full or empty and that's kinda weird but that will help I'm sure.
