In 2007 I had a Lapband done to drop weight in order to have a double knee replacement, I had both knees replace over a 3 month period in 2010.

2 years ago I had a very bad flu for about 2 weeks and after a that had passed I began having trouble with vomiting even the smallest of foods.

after moving to Chesapeake, Va in 2012 my vomiting only got worse and was associated with pain some times very painful, I told my primary doctor who referred me to Dr. DeMaria. As I was explaining to him what was happening it seemed he already knew what the cause was. He told me with out testing that I had had a Laband Slip due to the excessive vomiting when I had the Flu.

He then ordered and upper GI for the following week and sure enough after drinking that nasty Barium stuff he could show me that my stomach had come up threw the Lapband and created 2 pouches. that same day he tried to deflate my lapband which only dropped a part of it.

3 weeks later there was no change and he recommended a revision to Gastric Bypass the Insurance Company approved it right away and I began my pre surgery testing and diet which lead to August 5th 2014.
