JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
Yvette Garza replied to SMED0308's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello my fellow Sleevers, so I'm 4 months out and I am experiencing hunger every 2 hours..is that normal? Can you all please help and share some healthy snacks or easy/soft foods. I have a shake once in a while but maybe I should have one every am and see if that helps. I've lost 52 lbs since surgery and 71 altogether but still think I should have lost more by now -

Hi all my fellow July Sleevers!!! I had my surgery on July 28th & has been a bumpy ride, but well worth it all! I have lost 40 lbs since surgery. My Stats: SW:275 Day of surgery:256 CW:217 So, I used to be a 3x and I am now an XL & pants I used a 18/20 and now a 16/14. Still pushing through and find some days are a lot harder than others to eat. I still can't get all of my water intake and my protein but doing much better. I feel amazing & more healthier than I've ever been. Good luck to all of you and hope we can keep sharing our stories together to motivate and inspire us all. Much love:) -

I have a question: I'm ending my 4th week post op since I was sleeved but does anyone have the same thing where you eat or drink something and your stomach starts to make loud noises or your throat? -

Hello, My name is Yvette Garza and I was sleeved on July 28th. It was a very difficult 24 hours after waking up because I threw up for a whole day. I wouldn't even press for the medication to help because every time I did I would get a massive headache and throw up. Finally, an awesome nurse gave me some Tylenol and other meds in combination with seemed to help. I have to say, just 2 days later I was craving so many different foods..especially what used to be my weakness, sweets! I had a hard time dealing with this new life change and had an emotional breakdown and told my husband that I had no idea how important food was to me or how addicted I was to it. I had been an emotional eater for so many years and having a total life changing surgery actually gave me food withdrawals. I felt depressed throughout the day and would get angry when others around me were eating so deliciously. Today, as I am on my 4th week..I can honestly say that most of the cravings have subsided and I feel stronger and better. Someone told me that I could have also been getting a lot of cravings because I wasn't eating enough, especially Protein. I have a hard time following the plan where it says to have protein and two sides..I don't know but most of the time I can't bring myself to eat all that and just one. Sometimes I feel weak but that's probably why. On another note, I like seeing that my old clothes doesn't fit like it used to. I know that I am only down 20 lbs since the surgery but starting since January, my insurance required for me to lose at least 20 in order to be approved for the surgery I was at 275 and today I am at 236. The day of the surgery I was 256, I am starting to feel so much better & my self-esteem is getting better!! I can eat a little better and drink more fluids. Today, I am restarting my exercise routine which I know will definitely help and speed the weight loss process. Good luck to all of you!! God Bless -

I had the same issue and had even gained a pound around the 3rd week but now that I've passed into my 4th I've lost 3-4 more. It is very normal for it to be happening. Be patient and you will see that the weight will start coming off, all our bodies are different even if we all got the same surgery..some will lose way more than others and that's ok because as long as you are losing weight or ounces each day is what counts. Good luck to you! -
