Back to basics and really doing it!

Right? And now I have to switch antibiotics because this one has given me migraines where I lose my vision twice in two days. I should have been able to finish the cycle and the doctor was fine with it but one of my ovaries follicles got totally out of sync with the other so we had to stop. Nice waste of money. We're only freezing now. I had a baby 8 months ago but due to an anatomical weird thing IVF is the only way for me to get pregnant so we wanted to freeze so when we're ready for the next one it's not as stressful.

Checking in for accountability....I gained 6 lbs back (some has to be fluctuation though). I randomly had a raging systemic infection that was horrendously painful and landed me in the hospital, then my back went out AND I was in the middle of doing an IVF cycle to freeze embryos. Back on track today.

Everyone is different. It's a good question for a dietician or doctor.

Down almost 20 lbs! I'm doing pretty well and mostly finding it fairly easy to keep my calories low, but I could do better with evening out my food throughout the day.

Thanks. Yes, I eat a lot of protein even when not "eating well." My story is super long, but the short version is: Was banded in 05, lost over 100% of excess weight, ended up in treatment for anorexia, was convinced I should eat "normally," slowly gained weight through grad school, then gained more while working, then infertility treatment put it all over the top and now I'm back where I started 12 years later. I'm headed towards bypass, but eating (mostly) the way one would post bypass now because - why wait? I have tried this a couple times over the years, but it never lasted because of one reason or another. With bypass somewhere in sight, it's easier to keep going. The scale is moving now. I sort of forgot that this is ALWAYS what happens with my period. I drop right after it starts but hold on to weight right before.

Joining. I'm super frustrated. I'm eating 1300ish a day and waffling up and down the same couple of pounds. My body is super efficient with food. In Russia in the 1800's that would have been great. Now? Not so much. I'm sticking with it but starting to feel like the weight is going to go up no matter what I do.

Revision 12 years later? Band to...

I mean as opposed to bypass

Revision 12 years later? Band to...

    Why did you choose sleeve?

Revision 12 years later? Band to...

Thanks. If I weren't doing another surgery, I would probably just leave the band in. It's annoying, but not worth the surgery just to remove.

It's absolutely the band. When there's no fluid in it the reflux goes away. Thanks for flagging that!
  11. Hello Everyone, I'll spare you the whole drawn out story, but the short version is this: I had lap band surgery pretty young 12 years ago. I lost 100% of excess weight, had reconstructive surgeries, was in treatment for an eating disorder and gained it all back. I'm fully recovered and figuring out what's next. I have worked with my surgeon with the band and it isn't useful anymore. Any fills at all give me HORRIBLE heartburn and even without a fill, food gets stuck every meal. I'm strongly considering a revision to bypass or sleeve (can't decide). Have any of you done this? What was weight loss like the second time around? How was it different? I have about 170ish to lose. I'm 32 now and was 20 when I had the band put in.

    How long?

Thanks. This is maddeningly frustrating. I'm absolutely burning more than I'm eating.
  13. twistedbarbieLA

    How long?

Hey folks, How long does one stall before they decide they're not losing? I'm eating 800 ish cals. I've tried more and less to get losing again, but nothing. I'm at 286. I cannot figure this out. I'm not underestimating cals. Any ideas/thoughts?

    How close together?

Just had a fill about two weeks ago and I know it wasn't enough. Do you think it's too soon for another?
