What's your daily vitamin schedule?
LKG replied to Paloma68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take my multi-vitamin four times a day. I am taking the chewable Opti-Source Post Bariatric Vitamins. My sublingual B-12 at breakfast. B-1 at breakfast. Calcium Citrate plus D at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Vitamin D at breakfast. Iron at bedtime. -

anyone REGRET the sleeve?
LKG replied to elpasovet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do not regret it. I was sleeved on July 17th. I am glad that I am able to eat a little more food choices now. At times I have wondered if I just followed the eating guide, maybe I would still be losing weight without the surgery. But I think again and remember all the cheating that I did. Fast food, sodas. Since the surgery, I do not crave the sugar. I can see everyone drinking their sodas and eating the chips and dips and not be bothered by it. I am glad I did this. Heavy weight runs on both my moms and real fathers sides. I was in a losing battle. I am glad I did this. I started out in a size 22 and was able to purchase a size 18. I am so thankful. -
sleeve doesn't mind sugar- oy!
LKG replied to tiredmama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon told me that since I had the sleeve and not the bypass, I will not get the dumping syndrome. For that I am thankful. -

My surgeon told me that with the sleeve I won't get the dumping syndrome. I hope I don't. If we go back to our old habits, then yes we can re-gain all of the weight we lost plus some. I know a few people who went back to the old habits and regained their weight plus. We just have to keep in mind what we really want. We all want to be healthy and have a long and active life.

According to my home scale, I have not lost anything in three days. I hope this passes quickly. I am only 10 pounds away to what I was when I got married.

Hungry All The Time After Gastric Sleeve Surgery
LKG replied to jayzer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked my surgeon about this before my surgery. What he said is that some people still feel hungry because they are use to their stomachs stretching when they eat. When we are now told to eat a certain amount, we are not stretching our stomachs. He told me to drink just a sip of Water to help get that stretch if I need it after I am done eating. Maybe this will help you. I know it has helped me. -

Using Straws - if drink is 0 cal, why can't u
LKG replied to BDM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon and family members that have had this surgery all told me "NO STRAWS". I drink my fluids better with one but because I was warned, I haven't had one. I am afraid of the pain that they may cause due to gas. I do not want that. I was told that the straws will bring in air and cause bad pain. -
How could you POSSIBLY be exercising right now?
LKG replied to ChavaBling's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have read on here a couple of times of "couch to 5k". What is that? Right now I am only three weeks out and starting to walk without losing all my air (asthma). I use to do Hip Hop Abs videos, loved them. I got quick results with them until I had my baby three years ago and the weight just went up instead. I want to get back to where I can do them but this couch thing has me interested. -

Ditching the protein shakes
LKG replied to crazzeescrapper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@want2besleeved I went to Fresno. Two hours away from where I live. I wasn't give any information on a 12-week class. We had the info meeting in Manteca and then to meet the surgeons and go to their class, I went to Fresno. Once I picked my surgeon we had a group class with just him. That was all the classes that I had. I had Dr. Adolfo Alvarez. Love him. -

@@janeta16 I was told to take chewable vitamins for a few years. I looking for a chewable B-1 because the taste of it about made me sick. I opened the capsule and took it that way. I was told that The Vitamin Shoppe has all the chewable vitamins we need. I am going to look there. They also have a website.

I had my surgery July 17th. I feel great. Haven't had any pain meds since waking up from surgery. The nurses were shocked when they would read my chart. Loved it. I just started on some yogurt, eggs, and cheese sticks. But it is so hard to get even close to the recommended amount of water a day. Still not allowed to clean and that is bugging me more than anything. Noone in my house cleans like me....lol. The hospital weighted me at 248 after surgery and this morning, I weighted myself at 219. If I could jump up and down right now, I would.

I haven't been told that I took the easy way out yet. I get the looks from some family members instead. They will not come out and say it but their look says it all. I just want to tell them, I wasn't given the genes to be tall and skinny. I was given the genes to be short and chunky. I am tired of the excess weight and if this is the only way, so be it. People is public that have asked me are really supportive. Some family members need to learn it.

LKG replied to nursejenny07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
LKG replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My cousin goes up and down 1-5 pounds. I am only three weeks post op but she told me that when I feel the little extra gained to work hard and get it back off. She is 11 years post op. I have five family members with the surgery so I get a lot of information.
