  1. I am 2 weeks out RNY GB and I just started having this horrible burning sensation on my lower left side. Has anyone else had this?! Should I call the Dr? Anything I can do to make it better?! Please help!

    July RNY Page

I had my surgery 2 weeks ago on July 30th and am down 20lbs. I am doing the puréed diet and it's going well. I haven't felt hungry yet so I just eat my meals at the same time each day. I had bad "burning" pain on the lower left side of my abdomen because I was doing too much. Now that I have stopped lifting my babies it's gotten better! Glad to see everyone is doing well! dde04

  6. I am 28 y/o & from Peoria, IL. I'm married with 3 beautiful daughters and am a RN in the NICU in my area. My surgeon was Dr. Stephen Marshall. I had my surgery on Wednesday and came home today. I am moving well just sore and tired. Hoping to get guidance along the way and get ideas from others on staying on track and staying positive on hard days! I don't like depending on my husband for nearly everything right now so I am looking forward to recovering and getting into a routine!

    Surgery 7/30/2014

I was RNY. My hospital experience was great. I came home post op day 2 as I was walking and moving around on my own. I am day 4 post op and am feeling better everyday! Most of my pain is on the left side of my abdomen. I start my full liquid diet today so I am hoping to get some energy from that as I am very tired! So far I have been very lucky I have had no complications. I felt nauseated right after surgery in recovery and they gave me meds for that and I haven't been nauseated or sick since then. It was kind of painful switching from my fentanyl PCa pain pump to liquid medication (lortab) but the lortab lasts much longer than the Fentanyl so that is nice. Let me know if you have any questions!
