    Breakfast ideas...

Ddem Im a calorie counter and have done that since day one good on you for following the WW's I think we all have to find the way that works for us some of us do the above and others chose to just eat as usual but smaller portions I guess for me i have spent 45 yrs dieting rofl and find the calories easy and also the WW recipes thinkingslim....as you still in the early stages you can probably still eat bread/toast so there are a lot of good healthy grain breads that would be an option too with a Protein topping bread is off the menu for me but what i do now is get some of my favourite bergan bread and i will spray a tray with the cooking spray and then pop it into the oven and let it get very crisp then once its cool store in a good airtight container its yumm with healthy toppings of protein and you can rub it with a clove of garlic before baking too makes a change from the crackers and nice n crunchy avocado n smoked salmon is a good topping tuna, sardines, etc a savoury egg is yumm to hard boil eggs peel, cut in half and scoop out yolk mash yolk with salt, pepper, dash curry powder, dash vinegar and tiny amount of sour cream or mayo mix well n put back into the egg halves:lol:

    Breakfast ideas...

Hi I have pretty tight restriction and cant eat anytme befor 11am sometimes later i start the day with a couple of cappuchino's but usually have 1 weetbix at around 11 am and i find that filling but maybe not suitable for work either what about hard boiled egg.....mashed n have it on vitawheet or your cracker of choice slice of cheese on cracker with sloce tomatoe some diced chicken with mayo in a way it depends if you a breakfast food person....personally i dont mind having some diced chicken or ham on vitawheet think of snack type foods you like that are filling and some Protein.....some homemade quiche or zuchinni slice is healthy, n filling a pita bread filled with some of the above Proteins cold meatloaf with relish on a vitawheet things you can have prepared in the fridge n just grab with some crackers....but nutritional Leeanne:lol:

    Sydney get togethers???

ohhh..just another thought too might be a chance for some to bring any clothes they have shrunk out of to hand on to those who need them...iykwim this has been a big expense for me during my journey so its a good idea as we arent in things for too long:smile:

    Sydney get togethers???

ohhhh dont know im sure there will be a few like me who dont drive.... which can make a few dificulties im in bankstown just an offer but im quite happy to have a coffee morning or afternoon here...but dont feel obligated or we can look at a spot for a lunch type meet and then we need to think of those who have little ones too....they need to be considered as to a place to play iykwim so i guess we just all need to throw in a few suggestions:thumbup:

    First Band adjustment

hello not sure you will be actually able to say how much you want being your first one most surgeons seem to have their own routine for the first n second fill my first was 3 mils and my surgeon routinely seems to give that for the first.....im 15 mths banded and havent needed a fill for 6 mths my last one was only .25 of a mil be guided by your surgeon and once you start to get used to some change in your food intake and also feel some restriction then its easier for us personally to get a feel for what we think we might need and dont compare your fill amount to anyone else cause we are all so very different I have a 10 mil band with 4.75 mils in and i have a very tight band...by choice others can have the same band and may have 7 or 8 mils so its very different for each of us good luck Leeanne:lol:

Help i feel like a failure!!

You are not a failure and dont compare yourself to others and their weight loss either cause we are all different you need to reassess make a food diary and after a week just see where your going wrong and yes we all plateau and the next 30kgs isnt as easy to lose as the first I think you have done a great job time to give up the drinking with your meals....i know it can be a hard one to stop....but it will be worth it also check in with your surgeon to make sure you have a good level of fill and not too much and talk to him, they are there to help dont be too hard on yourself Today is a new day hugs Leeanne:lol:
  19. thanks Rob:regular_smile: ohhh dear yes a lot of folk seem to have that little problem i used to have baked Beans in my tomatoe Soup and blitz it well....i had that every day post op till i got to go on mushies also pear juice is good stuff thing is you dont have much in the tummy n it makes it difficult make sure your also drinking plenty of Water because thats a very big help too and gentle walking around the house too ok now im an old RN from the old ways and sometimes a heat pack placed around the ummm......posterior....cause im trying to be tactful..rofl...this can sometimes stimulate things a bit to.... try all of those ideas before you go the way of any more oral aperients cause sometimes they just give you lots of tummy pains but not a lot of effect if none of the above work then i suggest a quick phone call to your doc for their suggestions...n dont be embarressed cause I assure you they will have heard it before hope your feeling more comfortable very soon as I know its a horrible feeling Leeanne:lol:
  20. Hi Rob congratulations on being banded take it easy and dont be too stressed if the wind/gas pains hit you at some stage....can happen even a few days after surgery follow your surgeons post op diet and they all have their own so can all be a bit different try to have as many nutricious Soups and stuff as possible so you dont feel too blerk also dont be concerned if once the healing is well underway the hunger returns its all quite normal many bandits struggle with the hunger until they get some restriction some even put on a few kilo's so dont get worried if it happens all our surgeons do fills at various rates but eventually you will get some restriction in your band just go slow and steady and for now get in the fluids so sip sip sip it can be a hard journey in the begining but one well worth it I wish you heaps of luck Leeanne:lol:

    Hi from Tas

Hello Moya im one of wilko's girls too banded 14 mths ago he is a lovely man can be short on chat but I like him and he is very kind Ive had a couple of fills with the lovely doc milan and he is very gentle too dont worry you will be fine.....sleeve is a good option too i have a close friend who had it done but I chose the band as my first option n didnt give the sleeve a thought Leeanne:lol:
  23. cuddles_01au

    Post op diet help please

just have a good supply of your favourite drinks....better if they have some nutrition....not gassy drinks and lots of broth and then onto nice soups that have been blitzed and when you have the go ahead you can then go onto mushies also have some pain meds, and I found a hot pack a big help too good luck Leeanne
  24. cuddles_01au

    I have a problem

yes not too many of us can eat bread....its only on the odd occassion I even try some toast dont worry too much as long as you can drink Water....thats the main thing.....give it time to settle down....the area will be imflammed from p/bing once you experience this its time to remember pea sized bites and then chew chew chew im 14 mths banded and I still forget sometimes....just go slow and you will be fine...but it can be a bit frightening when you have it happen the first time Leeanne
