It took me 3 weeks before I started feeling semi normal again.. There were days I asked myself WHY did I do this? Days I cried to my DH saying I JUST want to feel good again! Now, 6 weeks later I feel WONDERFUL! It takes time and everyone is different we all tend to expect it to be done and over and that we will be right back to doing what we did before but, it doesn't work that way..They say this is life changing and they are not kidding it humbles you.. It also makes you listen to your body.. Good luck it DOES get better!!! Banded July 5.. Lost 40 lbs...

I am having pain around and to the right of my port incision and there appears to be scar tissue building up around the incision. I am not talking about pain when you touch it.. Its an ache all the time.. Should i be concerned or has anyone else experienced this? I lifted on a box in my shed that was heavier than I expected could i have done something? Should I bother my Dr. with this or just wait till I see him?

I am 3 weeks post op, going into week 4. I did not follow the diet to a T Mainly because, I was starving and physically ill.. I moved to puree early and felt 1000 times better. I dont eat fast food but i wont say i never will. 6 weeks of liquid IS the RNY diet and with no restrictions you WILL be hungry! Good luck to you.

new bandsters hoping this works..i felt like i had tried everything too and was really worried i would go through all this to have no success again. I was banded the 5th of july. i have never felt hungry. i am tempted to eat my beloved brownies but, know its not good to eat sweets when protien has to come first. by time i eat my protien im full and no longer want the brownie.. one week post op.. I have lost 10 lbs. it works!!! best of luck.

What is your opinion on the weight loss of the movie stars?
loreli replied to Iluvharleys's topic in The Lounge
lindsey is too thin she looked better with a little more on her bones. Kristie HAD to go more than 204 she is tall and taller people carry weight better than shorter. she still looked big! you will never convince me she was only 204 lbs. i think the media makes too much out of all of it though. they are human beings, people gain and loose and others struggle to do both.. why is it so important to the media to make it a free for all? Nothing better to talk about... -
don't stress. it really isn't all that bad. my hospital experience was very positive.

teamsura, i was also banded july 5.. I feel the SAME way! At least we are not alone! I find that the more I walk the better the gas pain gets but, its had me very worried because sometimes it takes my breath away. I never had the shoulder pain I was warned of in the hospital but, it now lays under my breasts and I too feel like a beached whale! Ha ha. I hope this subsides for us both soon!

my doctor told me to use fortified powdered milk (carnation) for added protien.

I just tried a yogurt smoothie. (Im only on liquids) I used vanilla yogurt 4oz., a 1/2 cup skim milk, vanilla extract (just a little) and ice cubes. it was REALLY good!

I was told to stop before surgery. I did but, haven't been able to stop since. I find myself craving a smoke more than food! When I stopped the dr. gave me patches and they helped a lot. I think now though its more of a deprivation thing. how many addictions can you stop at one time and NOT go nuts? It is very very important to stop before your operation. It affects your breathing terribly during surgery. Even if you only stop for a few weeks, ask your dr. for a prescription and do it for your self! wellbutrin did not help me. It kept me up all night and if I was up, I was snacking putting a monkey wrench in the weight loss requirements.. The patches helped me. of course, everyone is different. Good luck!

I am a post op patient. My operation was July 5, 05. I am on full liquids. unlike the messages I have read here, I do not feel hungry. I find myself constantly worried that I am eating too much. I do not want to over fill the pouch or dislodge the band. I am eating 3 meals per day. 3/4 cup cream wheat (am.) protien drink (noon) and strained soup 3/4 cup at dinner. I also drink through out the day. I do not feel hungry (yet) I am however having terrible gas pains that make it hard to even take a deep breath. Is this normal? Am I eating too much? is a quarter cup of jello too much? I can not eat pudding even though Dr. said I could. It feels very heavy. When does the gas pain go away? I am walking short distances 2-3 times a day also. I have not seen any major change in my weight yet. 3 lbs. could someone give me some feedback please? I would appreciate it greatly.
