  4. Everytime I have a fill, I can barely eat anything. And it gets worse and worse. I throw up clear mucous looking stuff. It is emabarassing because if I go out for a business luncheoun I have to excuse myself several times and go throw up. That just causes more irritation. It happens even with a small amount of fill. I have already had hernia surgery since the band surgery. When they did that the dr. changed the position of the band, but it is still like it was before. I don't have any fill in now, so of course the weight is coming back on. But I have noticed at times that when I go back and they measure how much fluid I have, that it is less than before. I have questioned the dr. about leakage, but he kind of brushes it off. I am in a quandry, and sometimes wish I had never had it done. But I am self pay and cannot afford another surgery.

    Irritated stoma/esophagus

I too am constantly having to go back to have fill out/in/out/in. And I am a self pay patient. I would have acid reflux so bad, and now I think my esophogus will never heal. I get hoars. I had to go back and have surgery because I developed a hiatal hernia. He repaired the hernis and He readjusted the band. I got better for several months, but had started having same symptoms. I had to go back and have all fluid taken out. When I have the fluid taken out I start gaining weight again. But don't take the chance of damaging yourself forever.

    overfill????

sometimes just the smallest fill can cause me to swell, throw up and become inflamed. I kept complaining till finally I was diagnosed with hi henia. Don't play around with this. Complain.
  7. I had to have hernia repair after lapband, 5 years later.

    help hiatal hernia

I think I had a hernia before I had my surgery. I was told by the radiologist who did the upper GI before the surgery, that my stomach emptied very slowly. I only lost about 40lbs after 4 years, kept getting filled, then sick, take fluid out, ove and over again. Finally after gaining all but about 25 lbs back, I had a fill, then really got sick. Lost about 40lbs in 4 months. Finally they told me I had the hernia, they did repair, and I did fine, now it has been a year and it is starting all over again. Another upper GI from my family dr. says I have another hernia, but the bariatric dr. says it is probably just the pouch and the radiologist doesn't know how to diagnose it. Now all fluid out again, as I lost about 18 lbs really quickly cause I couldn't even get water down. Now I am feeling beter, but I will probably gain wieght again. It has been a vicious cycle for me. Even worse, I had to pay for my surgery, and if the band comes out, I will have to pay for that. Don't do it, if you have a hernia. You will be miserable. I promis
