    Lower BMI Bandsters!

On the plus side, though, he told me that since my company is self-insured and only use the insurance company to process claims, I may not have to jump through as many hoops </TD></TR><TR UNSELECTABLE="on" hb_tag="1"><TD style="FONT-SIZE: 1pt" height=1 UNSELECTABLE="on"> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
  2. <p>Here's a few common West Virginia-isms that drive me smack up a wall:</p> <p> </p> <p>"Borry" instead of "Borrow"</p> <p>"Kindly" instead of "kind of"</p> <p>"over to" instead of "over at", i.e. "I was over to Kroger the other day..."</p>, or "They have dog food over to Petsmart" <p>"Let me see" something instead of "let me use" something. My younger son will say something like "Let me see your cell phone" and I'll hold it up and say "Here. See it?"</p>

Should I do lap band surgery?

If they'd only develop a band for the "head hunger" area of our brains! I'm not banded yet (have first appt. 11/2) but I know I'll still be a food addict with the band and will need to battle it the rest of my life
  4. Here in West Virginia, mispronounced words and horrific grammar are a fact of life. We have the lowest college graduation rate in the country and it shows in our speech. I've learned to let it roll off my back. But what really bothers me is when people know the right word, pronunciation, etc and still don't use it. I had a sorority sister who always used "ideal" for "idea" and refused to change despite being corrected by myself and others because she thought it sounded "cute." Sheeeesh! :rolleyes
  5. I catch my kids up in this a lot too, and it really is irritating -
  6. I have two sons, ages 16 and 12, and I tend to pick up a lot of middle/high school speak that just doesn't sound professional. My two worst offenses, I think, are "retard/retarded" and "gay" as a term of derision. I'm 46, have a master's degree and a responsible job and I know better, but they still creep into my speech anyway -

Shopping for clothes is getting fun...

Interesting thing about the shoes ... the one and only thing I have to say I don't mind about being overwieght is that I can wear normal-width shoes. Before, I always had to have narrows or AAs and they are almost impossible to find (although there are plenty of wide-width shoes our there.) I'll gladly go back to narrows, though, if it means I'm skinny everywhere else.

    Best thing about being slim?

R-E-S-P-E-C-T, baby! I don't know how it is in the UK, Boysaway, but here in the States, a lot of people think fat=stupid and I'm tired of it.
