Sleeve to Bypass for Reflux
mocha2871@yahoo.com replied to hayyouljkb's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had the surgery 2 yrs ago. I have not had any issues. I do experience dumping after this surgery but that's my fault. Sent from my SM-G781U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I don't know if anyone else is experiencing something really strange happening. But I am experiencing things smelling and tasting really strange. It seems to be shredded cheeses, my yogurt, and my decaf coffee. All these things I ate before having my bypass revision but now they all have this strange smell and taste which is kind of nauseating. When did I mention it was Greek yogurt that has this smell. I also found that I order a salad from Wendy's and the dressing smell the same way and taste the same way. Can explain what the smell or taste is but it's weird that all of these different things have this smell and taste. Has anyone experienced anything like this? How often do you weigh yourself?
mocha2871@yahoo.com replied to ruthpets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use to do weight watchers and it was a weekly weigh in. So I kinda keep that mind set and it let's me be accountable for my weeks effort or down fall. So Monday morning after using the washroom. I also have a scale that syncs with my phone to document it. Sent from my SM-G781U using BariatricPal mobile app -
What the heck! How did I gain weight 2 days after surgery?
mocha2871@yahoo.com replied to Lahela's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes that is normal. You have water and gas in you so you will the scale a little higher. Give it a week to 2 weeks and you will see move down. I gained 10 pounds from the surgery and two weeks after I was down 15. Give it time you will see. Sent from my SM-G781U using BariatricPal mobile app -

mocha2871@yahoo.com replied to xoto2000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand, I'm 4 months after surgery and I can't stand ranch dressing, shredded cheese, sour cream, and coffee. I can't stand the way they smell and they taste the same way. Sent from my SM-G781U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Its done but oh my GOD

I have had my surgery and everything went well but I had no idea of the pain I was going to have to endure. Had my surgery on Thursday the 19th and was expecting to be out on the 21st. Doesn't look like it's going to happen I have not had a bowel movement yet nor have I pass gas so I won't be getting out. In the last past 24 hours I could not really drink anyting it would fit in my chest and come right back up like a foam. So they stopped me from having any liquids. Today is better I am able to get down some of my pureed food like the yogurt and I'm drinking Ensure clear Apple. Also have some pureed peaches and scrambled eggs didn't care for those. Pain that I had to go through with this gas is no joke. I'm only allowed to walk in my room to help move the gas. I know I needed to have the surgery but I was really thinking I made a bad choice. But today seems brighter and I know this was a good choice cuz I have not had any acid reflux in the last past 24 hours which is a blessing. I'm ready to go home but it doesn't look like it's happening. Feeling okay will keep everyone updated when I get home. Sent from my SM-A205U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Has anyone had a issue with naps in the middle of the day since the surgery? I find that I am sleepy throughout the day and then at night I can't sleep. Today is the first day that I'm going to try to stay up and not take a nap to see if that helps me sleep tonight. I do no that before the surgery I never took naps in the middle of the day because I was working and never felt sleepy either. When I had my first surgery 7 years ago after the surgery I suffered from insomnia really bad and my doctor recommended melatonin to help me sleep it did help but I find it doesn't help now and maybe it's because of the daytime naps. I just want to sleep through the night and feel rested the next day. Sent from my SM-A205U using BariatricPal mobile app

Revision completed
mocha2871@yahoo.com replied to Tracyringo's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Had my revision on 11/19 and it only been 8 days but still having a hard time sitting up for long periods of time. I have to lay down at some points during the day. I'm able to get my protein in since I have it in everything I eat and drink. So have to say it's not that bad now that the swelling in my stomach has gone down. The only option: Revision sleeve to bypass!
mocha2871@yahoo.com posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had my sleeve surgery in 2013 and have had GERD 6 months after the surgery. I have been on omeprazole for 7 yrs. I went from 40 mg once a day to twice a day. My surgeon now feels that a revision is necessary to resolve this issue. I just meet with him on 10/14 and I am scheduled for surgery for 11/19 upon approval from my insurance company. I will have the revision and repair the hiatal hernia I have too. I did not think it would be this soon. I'm a little worried but looking forward to not having to worry about taking these pills and the effects if I dont. Alot of my family does not know I had the sleeve so now Im concerned about Thanksgiving when I will still be on pureed foods. Not sure what I will do but just praying all works out well. Anyone November 2020
mocha2871@yahoo.com replied to mgilbert's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am scheduled for a revision surgery on 11/19/20, I am on my 14 day pre-diet. I dont have to do the liquid diet but just a low carb, high protein diet. I am mentally ready to get this over with in order to feel better. I have started prepping for my pureed diet once I get home from the hospital. I am freezing pureed food so that I can be ready to have meals on hand. Its been 7 yrs since my sleeve so I have to get my mind wrapped around how it was when i got home from the hospital. Good look to everyone on this journey -
I am currently researching for after my surgery. I have searched youtube and pinterest. They have some good ideas for pureeing meats,

My second surgery that are not requiring a liquid diet and I glad about that. But I am hoping for the best for you all. -
