Hello, My name is Kelly (kpurdy68) I am scheduled for the lap-band on August 14, 2014.
I made my decision in May to finally do something permanent about my weight. I have looked at bariatric surgery a few times over the last 20 years. It was a lot more risky years ago so I always left the thought behind. I have struggled with my weight since I got out of high school and my current weight at 258. I just started my pre-op diet and was 261 (probably from eating things I knew I might never get again)
Last year I moved in with a wonderful man that treats me great and doesnt care what my weight is. He has a heart condition and takes pretty good care of himself. He weighs 145 pounds and is 5' 5" tall. I smoked when I met him (he never has) I quit smoking on July 1, 2013 only because I worried about making his condition worse (he never complained) I have gained 45 pounds since then.
I had my first appointment with True Results on June 3rd, 2014 and after numerous things like finding out I have sleep apnea (I kinda figured from the snoring and choking), blood work, etc. I got a call a few weeks ago with my surgery date. I am very excited.
I am a very outgoing person who has never met a stranger. I tend to talk too loud but I have lots of friends so I must not be to annoying. Friends say I am funny and love to come to my parties/barbeques. I have 2 children 12 and 18 and a soon to be step daughter living with us (once I get married) that is 12. (thats how I met my awesome man is through the two 12 year old girls becoming friends at school) Ok, I will try to stop rattling on. He gave me a ring in January and I wont set a date until I know I will look good in pictures.
Thanks for reading my profile and I found BariatricPal.com online when I was looking for support type groups. I just want to live whats left of my life healthy and able to do our bucket lists together! I sure dont want to be that fat girl sitting on the sidelines watching cause I cant climb, run, dive, jump, parachute, etc. Heck I just want to go do paintball with my kids!! Is that to much to ask for?
Thanks! Kelly
