5 lbs to go to reach my 50 lbs mark. Can't wait either, because it will mean I only have 100 more to go to get to goal. I know it sounds like a lot but hey 45 lbs in 2.5 mos is pretty freaking awesome and has motivated me to keep up the good work.

You've changed since you had the surgery
leag78 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Okay so I'm excited about getting out of the 3s and into the 2s, and as I stated plenty of times I still have a long way to go. My doctor's goal for me is 180. So of course I'm excited that I'm my journey is going great so far. I try and share my success with my family and my brother says, "I bet when you lose weight you're gonna act like you're all that, because of how you're acting right now." I asked how am I acting and he said, "your excited about losing weight, but you're only losing weight because you had the surgery." So of course I have words with him because I'm sick of people thinking that just cause you had surgery means you are taking "the easy way out." This is clearly not easy. So when I told him this, he says, "you've changed since you had the surgery. Is it really that hard to lose weight on your own?" Now my brother is obese. He weighs over 300 lbs, and I'm like he should understand how hard it is to lose weight and keep it off. I can't tell you how many diets he's gone on. I just don't get it. You can't even be proud of your accomplishment without getting a negative comment from someone...WOW IS ALL I GOTTA SAY!!!! -
You've changed since you had the surgery

Thanks everyone for your support. That's why I talk to you all about my journey because you're the only ones who get it. I'm tired of having to defend myself. -
I've been accepted to the 200 club...I got on the scale this morning and I weighed 299.4. I am super excited. I know I still got a long way to go but at least I am no longer in the 3s. Yay!!!
-
Thanks everyone...I was getting very frustrated with the scale, and now I'm excited because I never have to see those 3s again. Not if I can help it.
-
Congrats, what an inspiration.

Yay, I'm also dancing around 302, and frustrated because I'm so close to the 200 club. I can't wait to announce as well. Hopefully soon, but definitely congrats to you on your success so far.

One year Surgiversary
leag78 replied to PrettyFatGirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Awesome, you look fantastic. Sure gives me something to look forward to once I reach my surgiversary. -
I just feel that weighing myself everyday does more harm then good. I definitely agree with everyone here on why you should weigh yourself daily, but I find that I'm obsessing to much on the number, and want to throw my scale out the window...lol...so to prevent doing that I just need a break from weighing myself. Still gonna stay on track but just not going to weigh myself.
-
Weighing daily for me tends to discourage me, because I feel the scale isn't moving fast enough. Or just watching it move one pound or ounce at a time. It just drives me up the wall. I know that stalls will happen but it is happening a little too frequently for me, and it sucks.

Stay away from the scale!
leag78 replied to leag78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The scale is pissing me off because I'm stuck on 305, but the ounces keep going up. For example, 305.2, 305.6, 305.8. WTF??? I don't understand if I'm following the rules why can't I get to 299 already. This scale is really messing with me. -
Do You Eat like a "Skinny" Person?
leag78 replied to GirlOnFire's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How does a skinny person eat?? Because I know a few that eat like they should be obese. I say eat like a normal person, because a normal person knows when they're full or just being greedy, and some skinny people don't know the difference either, but they're just the lucky ones that don't gain weight. Must be nice! -
37 lbs lost since surgery 4/8/15. Also lost 7 inches in my waist.

Hello I wanted to know how long it took some of you to get out of the 3s? Specifically asking those who did not have to do a pre op diet and weighed 340+? Because I'm almost 1 month post op and I still need to lose 22 more pounds before I get to 299. I started at 342 lbs. I know everyone is different but please answer because I could use a little motivation right now.

I remember a time I could eat a whole plate of food, finish my daughter's food, and still have room for desert. But since the surgery I take a few bites and I'm done. I used to get frustrated but now I enjoy it because I feel like a normal person that knows their limits. I know that this isn't a NSV but to me it seems like it. Just wanted to share. Oh, and now my daughter finishes my plate...NICE!!!????
-
At first it disappointed me when I was forced to leave food on my plate because I felt like I would pop if I took another bite, but now I feel like this tool has changed my whole outlook on the way I eat. My body actually knows when to say when, and its really awesome.

For the past couple of weeks I've been getting hunger headaches like my body is back to normal. I'm starving. I ate a hard boiled egg this morning and was able to eat a whole one, then I just ate 2 hotdogs, no bun. Just cut them into small pieces with mustard and ate every bit. I'm scared to call my surgeon because he may think that I purposely over eat and I really don't. If I go to long between meals I get a minor headache and I feel physically hungry. I remember feeling like this before surgery. I'm 6 weeks post op by the way. Surgery date was 4/8/15.

Contemplating not having the surgery because I like to party?
leag78 replied to lexiss22's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The 6 months of education is a good thing prior to surgery because it gives you the opportunity to think long and hard about if this is something you want to do. I am 2 mos post op and my biggest challenge was the cigarette smoking, and my trigger was going out, just like yourself and that was when I did the most smoking. I too have a smaller friend and she would get all the head rolls, and although I'm not an ugly person, my weight had a lot to do with it. Even if you change your mind and not have the surgery because you're young and want to party, you're truly never going to be happy, because you sound like you aren't now. That's probably why you really drink to numb the pain that you feel when you're being ignored when you go out with your tiny friends. I only have one regret and that is that I wish I had done this sooner. I'm about to turn 37 and really allowed my weight to get out of control. I believe that you will do what's best for you, and sometimes that means making sacrifices, and it'll all be worth it. Best of luck! -
You got that right. There is nothing easy about this whole life changing process. You still have to diet and exercise as with any diet. So when people say, "the easy way out," I wanna say they can suck it.

Yes, I was talking to my brother yesterday, he had the sleeve, and we were discussing how we used to could eat a whole pizza by ourselves, and then feel guilty and miserable after we ate it. Like, "I can't believe I just sat here and ate a whole pizza like that!" And it really made me feel really lousy about it and depressing, and now even though I can't have pizza at my early stage I don't even think I'd finish one slice and that is really a blessing for me.

Lucky...when will it be my turn? I'm happy for you meSparkle83!!!
