My experience nearly one year post-op, low bmi'er, success!
leag78 replied to Butterflyhigh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thank you for posting your story. I am officially 1 month post op today and I think I really needed to hear that. -
Now I'm 3 weeks post op as of today. I'm down 17 lbs and I know that's a big deal, but when family tells me you look a little smaller. I don't believe them and I think that their just being nice because they know about the surgery, and I don't see any changes. So when they say that I answer by saying, "whatever." I hope you understand and can relate to what I'm saying.

Now I've been using this site for about 6 mos now and so far I've asked 2 questions that no one have responded to. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that we are all here to support each other? I don't understand why you all are ignoring me. I show my support to each and everyone of you, and offer advice if I can relate but instead of calling my doctor every 5 mins I just assumed that my questions can be answered here. Am I wrong to think that? Am I over reacting?

@@Bonawanabfree, thanks for responding and your support. I guess I just get emotional because my weight seems slow to lose and I don't have anyone else to talk to because my family seems to be sick of hearing about my surgery.
-
Thanks for all of your support and I agree that if you can't relate then you shouldn't respond and I feel the same way. I guess I got a little emotional because I am completely alone in this journey and you all are my only support. So when I feel ignored it hurts because I can tell my family is sick of talking about it. I tried searching for most of my questions just to see if anyone else asked something similar and I got a lot of good info.

Things are going well, no nausea or pain. Sometimes I think my pouch is bigger than it should be because I've only felt full once since the surgery and that's day 3 when they finally introduced me to soft food while in the hospital. I look at myself, and I know that I'm only 5 days out but I don't feel like I've lost anything, and it doesn't help that I don't have a scale. Unemployed and can't afford one so have to wait for follow up appointments to check weight loss. I've read others concerns regarding their weight loss and I know that I shouldn't expect such a huge change being only five days out. But my brother had the sleeve and he is barely 2 mos post op and already down 65lbs. So I'm a little jealous at how quickly his weight is coming off.

9 days post op, keep having dizzy spells
leag78 replied to Ali From Cali's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree talk to your Dr. I was going through something similar to that last week. I could be up walking and it would hit me all of a sudden. Not the sweating thing but the dizzy spell. My doc says I'm not drinking enough fluids. I was getting my 64 oz in but I guess still not enough so I shoot for 70 oz. -
@@QuilterGal, thanks for the excellent tips on different ways to make my protein shakes because I swear the premier is making me sick.

Curious to hear people's stories of gastric bypass....
leag78 replied to RebeccaAR's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello, I had the bypass 4/8, so I'm a little over 2 weeks post op and my starting weight was 342 lbs and now I'm down to 324 lbs. I'm not gonna lie its not easy but if you put in the work you will succeed. They weren't joking when they said the surgery is just a tool. My reason to have surgery was due to being diagnosed with high blood pressure and diabetes. I didn't want that for myself. So when I got diagnosed with that last June that was my wake up call that I needed to make some changes. I hope you decide if this is best for you because I don't have any regrets. -
Thanks James, I haven't dumped yet so I think you just saved me on that. Just trying to switch up the diet a little bit.

What a difference a year makes!
leag78 replied to Lacowgirl72's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats on your weight loss. This is so inspiring for me. -
That is awesome. Gives me something to look forward to. I'm 2 weeks post op and starting weight a little higher than yours but I hope to be in the twos soon.
-
I'm about 2 weeks out and I understand the temptations. What I do is drink more water, grab a protein shake or do some more walking and that seems to help. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have thoughts of cheating but I remember that's what got me here and the point of surgery was to help me correct that. Please stick to your diet, if not for your health, but from a healing stand point. I guarantee you couldn't explain this to your surgeon without getting the same reaction as your bff, probably worse.

Anyone buy Premier Protein at Sam's Club?
leag78 replied to MrsRoboto's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
When I bought it last month it was on sale for $19.99 for a 12 pack. So I bought 2, because the original price was $29.99. -
Praying for a quick recovery. Keep us posted.
-
Wow awesome. I'm also 10 days post op as of today. But I'm only down 12lbs. I do need to increase the walking.

support before and after surgery
leag78 replied to secretangel247's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does it apply to those who've had the bypass as well or just sleevers? -
Prayers coming your way. You will be okay. I'm one week post op and I was scared to, but turns out I was scared for nothing. Whatever you decide you have all of our support.

@@kwcrnp, Eating is a little challenge for me. I'm sticking to my diet but it doesn't stop my brain from wanting the foods that got me here in the first place. Barely hungry in my stomach but in my mind I'm starving. I called my nutritionist to vent and she was very understanding by explaining that once my weight start coming off this will all be worth it and to continue to stay focus.
-
Little nervous. Please pray for me. I need all the support I can get. Will keep you updated. Lord's will that nothing happens.

@@SimplySharon, I'm doing fine. Officially 1 week post op and pain is non existent. I lost 7 lbs as of yesterday. So a pound a day is cool. Thanks for asking.
