    ARRRGGGGHHHHH! my mother #$)&(*U#)(*

I totally get you. My mom is disabled so she does not work, does what she wants with her day and wants to delegate how I should spend mine. She calls me knowing I am at work, text me (sometimes over 20 times) while I am at work and usually those text consist of "when you get off of work I need you to take me to . . . .". I get soooo frustrated sometimes! I remind myself that she is bored, too young to be stuck at home, I'll miss her when she is gone . . . all of that but sometimes she makes me want to SCREAM. Best of luck to you.

Congrats! I think I may use this as ammo to get a new wedding set if I have this kind of success! Its worth a shot . . .

    Moodiness

I think I will print this out and give it to my husband, lol.

    A little confused

@@sharie24, I didn't read that you're complaining about anything just that you are wondering why you have come to a stall. I hope that these explanations help you and your stall doesn't last too long. Congrats on your progress!
  5. @@bagonian74, inspirational! Congrats and thanks for sharing.

    Recovery for an RN

There is a nurse thread on here some where . . . if I can find the link I will post for you. I'm a RN too, but I work at a desk now. here it is: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/218028-super-nurses-with-sleeves-support-group/
  7. Yay! Looking forward to your update after you see the surgeon.
  8. I will be following because I would like to know what you find out. I am so sorry that you have RA. My mom has severe RA and it is terrible! BTW, my surgeon told me that NSAIDs are okay with the sleeve too. I specifically asked because I wouldn't want to live without my daily Celebrex. I hope you get answers quickly and are able to proceed.

kicked off of a fair ride....

I haven't told him because I don't want to hurt his feelings but this is one of my goals for my husband! We are both having VSG. We carry our weight very different, his belly is huge and the rest of him "normal". When he loses enough gut I want to go to an amusement park! He has stuffed himself in the rides at our local fair this summer but there would be no way he would make it next year if we kept the same habits . . . looking forward to next summer. BTW, I didn't have to stuff myself in the rides because I was "holding the baby".

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

Smiling Panda, I like your screen name! Everyone at my job knows and I feel like I will be under a microscope when I return. Most have been supportive, no one has been out right negative but I feel like when I return after surgery that everyone will be watching what I am eating or if I am losing anything . . . I'll just have to deal with it and try to use it as encouragement. Good luck!

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

I understand completely! I want to do this so badly but I have a tiny fear of leaving my kids without a mother.

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

Livelaughlove2014, I hope this surgery leads you to a healthy pregnancy! I have PCOS too and I was one of the "lucky" ones to over come it with 2 babies. It was a long battle with many meds and surgeries spanning over 6 years. I know of a fantastic trying to conceive with PCOS forum if you're interested. Best wishes!

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

I so hope that I will be a part of this group, so I am keeping the faith and jumping in. My last step was the psych eval and I did that last week. She said it will take 2 weeks for her to write her report and then I have to read and approve it and she will send it to my surgeon. After that the surgeon's office can submit to insurance!

    Insurance approved :)

Congratulations! I hope I'm not too far behind you.

    Fat burners and supplements

:-/ I have wondered this too . . . only because I have had semi-success with appetite suppressants in the past. I'd like to know if anyone can answer.

    Any Oklahoma Sleevers

Sleevydreams, I love your screen name. I have BCBS of OK, my plan does cover bariatric surgery and I am going to Dr. Kureshi at MCSO in Durant. Dr. Kureshi has been doing WLS at TMC in Denison and is now coming to Oklahoma one day a week. We have met our family deductible so insurance will cover 90% of the cost. My surgeon says that our portion of his fee will be 298.00. Getting someone to tell us the hospital fee is a different story. But insurance did tell us that if we could meet our "out of pocket cost" then they will cover 100%. *Edited to add- I just saw your post that you insurance does not cover WLS. Sorry.

    B - Belly

I know exactly what you mean, I like the way you explained it too! I would also like to know the answer . . .
  19. RedDirtRoads

    Let's talk about NSAIDs

I take Celebrex for chronic pain and my surgeon told me that I could continue to take it if I still need it.
  20. My husband and I are considering switching to Dr. Castro in Dallas. I have a couple of questions for any previous sleeve patients if someone is willing to answer. Thanks!
  21. I wasn't assuming that you did, I just thought you might be more likely to find this situation there. It was just an idea . . .
  22. Just a suggestion, maybe check with the PCOS forum/ thread? If you have PCOS then having WLS could really increase fertility, they may have someone with this experience. (I stumbled across some PCOS gals here but I couldn't direct you to them, sorry.)

    Bariatric Vitamins make me sick

I just went to the NUT this morning and he told us to buy a chewable or gummy Vitamin over the counter and take 2 a day. Is that not normal?
  24. RedDirtRoads

    Approved

Thanks for sharing and congratulations! I have BCBS of OK and the same BMI as you, so this gives me BIG hopes!
