    sleeved last night

Thanks for the update! So glad that you're feeling better. I must admit that reading your original post started my anxiety . . . I am having surgery on the 13th. I hope you will continue to share your experience.
  2. Awesome! We will have to stay in touch and encourage each other.

Pretty close, I'm 11/13 and I'd love to have someone to share with.

    Any November Sleevers?

I am scheduled for the 13th! I start a pre-op diet on Thursday. Full liquids and one meal a day. One night in the hospital and one week off of work if all goes well. This is really happening!!!!
  5. Just received my date Friday, I am scheduled for the 13th! I would love to have a buddy!

    Creating a new group?

Please add me to the group, my surgery was scheduled for Nov. 13th. A Facebook group would be more accessible for me.

    Isn't it Ironic

That just STINKS! Maybe you can try Jamberry nail covers? I don't know if you would have the same reaction but you could check . . . my friend had a party for this product recently I haven't tried them yet. They have lots of pretty designs though! Google Jamberry or look on YouTube for how to apply them.

    Where are the November Sleevers?

I was becoming very nervous about this whole thing, I have insurance approval and will get my date at my pre-op visit this Friday. Anyway . . . the nerves were gaining on me until I was in Stage the other day and I started looking at all the cute clothes. Normally, I would feel sad because I can't fit in them. Instead the nerves backed off and I was really happy browsing through these clothes that I will be able to wear soon enough!!!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Thank you for sharing, my hair already falls out all day so I am really concerned about losing my hair post-op.
  10. I don't know if this would be considered substituting one bad habit for another . . . just an idea. When I was pregnant I was put on bed rest and bored out of my mind. I discovered POGO, it is a online game site. I occupied a lot of time there, not just playing the games but talking to people online. They have conversations going on the side of the games and you can join in games that are geared toward conversations you are interested in (clean conversation, certain age groups). It is not an activity that is going to burn calories but it might keep you occupied enough to keep your mind off of snacking while you have limited mobility.
  11. This is why our surgeon won't let my husband and I have surgery at the same time (day). He says we have to wait a week in between because we have a one year old and he said absolutely no lifting over 10 lbs for a week. :-( I hope it all works out well for you.

Got any recipes for frozen protein pops?

Check out Pinterest. I saw something on there about making Protein pops with sugar free Jello.
  13. I am very encouraged by this thread. I have received approval from insurance and I am waiting to schedule surgery. Lately, I have been having thoughts of "what if I fail at this too". I'm 35, 5' 3, and 220. I'm hoping to get down to 140.

    Best Birthday Present Ever!

Love this, thanks for sharing! Good luck.

post op time off from work

One week off is the norm around here . . . various friends, co-workers and acquaintances that were sleeved were off for 1-2 weeks. My surgeon told me one week if there are no complications. I have a desk job so I hope I will be able to hang!

    I'm confused....BCBS of MI

I think I would ask for that in writing, I have BCBS of OK and I asked them to fax me things that I wanted in writing and they did, twice. Also, has your surgeon's office worked with them before? Maybe they can help you. Good luck.

    November Sleevers, let's buddy up

I get to join the party! I received a letter from my insurance yesterday that I have been approved. My surgeon's office won't be open until Friday, it is going to be such a long week.
  18. You know, I've never thought of this but I hope it happens for me too!

    Love this Protein!

I have seen many raves for this Protein mix on this site. I am so glad that people are sharing and supporting a Veteran owned business! http://www.musclegen.net/
  20. This is the first I have heard of this procedure. I have been googling the heck out of it since reading your post. I wish this option was available in my area. I am anxious to see what you uncover.

    The waiting game

I am right there with ya! Everything was submitted on Friday, now 2 week wait. I'm checking my insurance website every day . . . what I hope to see there I don't quite know . . . but I'm still checking.
  22. Following. I'm waiting on insurance approval. I know that I can only take one week off from work so I am worried about energy . . . hope that yours comes back soon!

    November Sleevers, let's buddy up

@@shelby77 We are in the same boat! I have completed all of my requirements but when I called my doctor's office they are waiting for outside providers (NUT, pysch) to send the records in. I have to get this done before the end of the year or my deductibles start over . . . and I don't know that I will want to go through this again. Update: Just spoke with the surgeon's office. She said she will submit to insurance for both my husband and myself today. She said to expect to wait 2 weeks for an answer! Woo hoo!

    Officially waiting for approval

Good luck, tomorrow I hope I can say that I am "officially" waiting too!
