    How My Family Eats Dinner

I agree with @@Summer Rain, if your portions are pre-measured and you pay attention to chewing . . . who cares if the TV is on? I think the reasoning is that you're going to be paying more attention to what is on TV than the amount of food you are eating.
  2. Sounds so great! I would have never lost 21 lbs in three weeks without the sleeve. Congrats!

    Protein Question

So far I have only mixed mine in with almond milk and frozen fruit to make a smoothie.

    My first week post-op

Glad to hear you are doing well! May I ask what group you are part of facebook? I am in 3 already but I love having others that understand to talk to . . . hope all continues to improve for you. Oh yeah, you're lucky, I had to keep that darn drain in for a week. :-( Probably the worst part of this whole experience.

    Where are the November Sleevers?

Hi all, finally updating . . . I was sleeved on the 13th. I spent one night in the hospital. The first night and second day at home were horrible. I was nauseous and I couldn't handle the nausea medication. So, I didn't get fluids in like I should have. Tuesday morning I went to the ER and asked for IV fluids because I was dizzy whenever I stood up. ( JUDGEMENT CENTRAL- several nurses asked me "why did you do this? would you do it again?) Anyways, found out at the ER that my potassium was low and my EKG actually showed implications of a heart attack . . . they did lab for cardiac markers and they were positive. NOT GOOD. So, I ended up spending the night. Troponin went down and they let me go home the next day. Left there, went to the surgeon and had my drain removed. Now I don't want to see a doctor for a loooong time! I feel better and I am so ready to be done with liquids. I still have another week of full liquids. On a bright note, I weighed today I am down 15 lbs. Awesomesauce! Glad to see that everyone is doing well so far and the weight is coming off.

November Surgery Dates Anyone? Let's Connect!

IKR! My family ate tacos tonight. Not only did they smell fabulous but the crunch was getting to me. I really thought about swiping the 7 year olds!

    Today is the big day!

How is everyone feeling and coping with life post-op? Honestly, it is not too great for me. My abdomen is super sore. I have to take blood pressure pills or I have horrible headaches but if I do take them then I am nauseous. I made it home around 7 pm Friday night and I just now finished my first bottle of powerade. 32oz.
  8. Today is the day! On the way to the hospital now.

Money out of pocket day of procedure

I have BCBS too. I have to cover out of pocket cost up too 1,500. This leaves me paying 288 to the surgeon and 978 to the hospital. They said it has to be paid before the procedure. I have pre-op lab next week and will give them all my flippin' money then . . . . :-)
  15. My husband and I are doing this together too. We have young kids (7 and 1) so we had to separate our surgeries a little bit. I am having mine on the 13th and his is December 4th. I think it will help to have someone that knows what I am dealing with . . . plus both of us eating the same kinds of food will be the best support. Good luck to you and your wife, I hope both of your surgeries go great and you both enjoy being healthy, lighter people.

    ONEDERLAND!

Congratulations, that is awesome! I am pre-op but I already my first NSV planned out!
  19. @@devoted04, how is the pre-op diet going? I blew mine yesterday, totally without noticing. I was doing well, when around 3 pm a co-worker in the next office came over offering a spicy nut mix he made. I just accepted it and had already ate a third of it before I realized OMGosh I'm not supposed to be eating! Oh well, today is a new day and I am back to liquids and one meal a day. How is everyone else?

    Any November Sleevers?

@@Quest4TheNewMe, How is the pre-op diet going? It isn't so bad so far but this is just the first morning for me . . . .
  21. Thanks for sharing. My surgeon moves along by the week. Two days of clear, then one week of full, one week of soft . . . I am still pre-op but I am already thinking that is to quick for me.
  22. Ditto the Miralax. It is very gentle, I had to use it post C-section.

Don't want to enter into 2015

I had similar fears but it was because my deductibles for insurance start over in January. I hope they call you soon. Once my information was submitted it took about 9 days to get a letter in the mail saying I was approved. I was like "aaahh, why didn't they just call/ email me?" it would have been so much faster . . . lol.
