I am curios to find out how many carbs PCOS sleevers that are trying to lose weight are consuming in one day. I read something a few days ago that said women with PCOS should keep carbs under 50g daily if they're trying to lose weight and now I cannot find it. Does anyone know or can you tell me what your NUT advised? Thanks!

@stephh We had surgery on the same day! I am one pound away from 50 lbs lost and I couldn't be more happy! I never ever thought I would be saying that size 14 slacks are loose! I am having trouble with belly fat, losing quickly in my arms, thighs and butt. My cycle is all crazy too. After all those years of going months without a period, I am on my 6th period in 4 months! That part bites. I only wish I had done this sooner.

Where are the November Sleevers?
RedDirtRoads replied to ToccoraVSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just upped my protein and started losing again. Now I am staying below 40 G of carbs and trying to hit 80 G protein daily. I am not the best with getting all my water in. Most days I hit 30-40 ounces of water. 800 calories for me too. -
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome & Sleeve
RedDirtRoads replied to MSanti's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I honestly don't know what size my sleeve is. I just broke a very long stall though. I found out that increasing my daily protein intake has helped me loose a little every day this week. I try my best to keep carbs under 40 and this week moved protein up to 80 G a day. I don't watch fat. -

@@TheCurvyJones Thanks for the encouragement. I am losing so slow that it gets me down sometimes. I will have to look into adding weights, I have only been using the elliptical and stationary bike. -
November Sleevers, let's buddy up
RedDirtRoads replied to chicogirl3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Elizabeth1124, I have surgery 11/13. I feel great. How are things going for you? I came back to add, I noticed that we have the same goal weight and I am only an inch shorter than you. At my last appointment (Jan 2nd) my surgeon told me that I should probably change my goal weight because he isn't sure I will get there. When I started this process I told him that I would be thrilled to get down to 160. He is the one that told me 140 was the best goal for me. Now he has changed his mind but in the same sentence tells me I am doing well . . . If you don't mind sharing, how many calories are you eating daily? I have PCOS so I am trying to keep my carbs at 40. -
Thanks all!

Has anyone's insurance actually approved Insure Nutrition?
RedDirtRoads posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would like to know if anyone's insurance approved Insure Nutrition for Protein shakes. I completed their online questionnaire and eventually had them fax the paperwork to me. I'll take it to my doctor Friday. I'm really hoping it goes through. -

Gastric Sleeve weight loss Men vs. Women
RedDirtRoads replied to mns112182's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Miss Mac is correct. It stinks too! My husband and I had surgery 3 weeks apart. I went first. I am almost 5 weeks out and he has already passed me up. I am truly happy for him but I am jealous too. -
Best of luck on you're up coming surgery! Small world, I am also a RN, I work in Ada and I had my surgery at MCSO in Durant. :-)

For those with BMI 36 or lower, how much did you lose your first month pre-op
RedDirtRoads replied to Readytobeskinny's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will be 4 weeks out tomorrow, as of this morning I have lost 23 lbs. I feel like it is slow going but then I KNOW I wouldn't have ever lost this much in a month without the sleeve. My husband will be one week out tomorrow and he has already lost 24 lbs . . . that does not help. He has a little more to loose than I do though. I would really like to loose 70-80 lbs. I wish there was a "light weight" forum here. -
I have been open about it from the get go, I have talked about my pre-op visits to the surgeon, day of surgery and after on facebook. My reason for doing this is because I want to show those I love and care about that this works. Also, I have been the person that has watched people drop weight and beat myself up because I could not do the same. I did not want anyone doing that because of me. I have had people openly comment on facebook with questions and I have had some PM me. I'm not pushing anyone toward WLS but I want to help people that may be thinking about it. BTW, your picture is awesome, it might be the hair but you really look like two different people.

How do you eat after?!
RedDirtRoads replied to Aranks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it is possible your stomach is still swollen at this point . . . I was about 12 days out before I could get fluids in "normally". In the beginning it was taking me 2 days to drink one 32 oz Powerade zero. -
Advice about calorie count please . . .
RedDirtRoads posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be 3 weeks out on Thursday. I am now eating soft foods. I am concerned about where my daily calorie consumption should be . . . I have emailed the NUT that I saw pre-op but I haven't received an answer since yesterday. So if anyone has guidelines that they could share I would appreciate it. I am thinking about staying with liquids/ greek yogurt a while longer to achieve the weight loss I want. Good idea? -
